Been mailing Ronnie a bit, doesn't seem to pushed on getting rid of stuff at the moment, my last few savings could get squandered before he's reply..

Strange. I know other folk have heard back from him only yesterday to say items have shipped.

Not sure if his number is on his site but maybe try give him a ring?

    I'd ring him,
I hope I get mine soon.
I jumped at the E2 because I know I'd piss away the cash!

For those building or modifying cabs, Lidl are selling hole saw sets, including the all important 28mm bit, for around 11 euro. They are suitable for both wood and metal so are perfect. I'm going to grab a set today.

Make sure & devote a new thread to it, & label it NSFW for the utter filth that will be contained within it

How many cabs do you own, Urbanledge?
Sounds like a considerable outlay on the machine.
Have you a selection of pcbs to play on it or are you popping in a pc?

    This will be my 3rd
The goal is one hori candy, one vert candy and an MVS machine.the goal shall be reached !(maybe a nintendo cab ;) )
Money and space not a factor at the moment so its now or never.
I'll be using a PC the E2 (via a Jpac of course)
I'll get a few vert PCB's but im not a collector/hoarder at all.I sell stuff once im finished with !

If anyone wants to have a read of how I picked up those arcade cabs from that Barn in cork, ive done up an overview of it here, along with some before and after pics of the cabs.

Great read Keith, its a crying shame that sit-in cab couldn't be salvaged isn't it

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,381 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

Yeh i know, before we got down, that was the one i had my eye on. But it was in bad condition, when i moved it the bottom was just flaking off it and the fact the game was missing too. it would have just taken up too much space in the van to be worth it.

And you didn't even take measurements of the cab to reproduce it.. tut tut tut :)

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,381 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

haha yeh someone said that to me over J+ , there was no time for that sort of messing around! We where under pressure to get back to Dublin at a reasonable time, the weather was getting worse, plus I wasn't whipping out the measuring tape with your man there waiting to go home for his dinner! :D

Imagine if they'd all been stored in a damp proof warehouse? Damn MDF and it's hatred of water :(

Really great writeup though. I love reading stories like this. Reminds me of that beached ship that was found which was full of mint classic arcade cabs.
