Next PCT is 06th December as posted by some one here I would take it if you have not received an email inviting you to it then I think any chance of doing a PCT now before Xmas is slim

I've seen different things on here, can someone please confirm if:

The first 12 weeks of training are in Portlaoise

    or

First 6 weeks of training in Portlaoise and second 6 weeks in a Dublin Training Centre?

I done mine in August and still haven’t heard. I rang IPS yesterday and said they are still waiting on my clearance. I’ve no family outside of Ireland. One of my friends has just passed out and he was saying from the time he applied it took 2 years, it’s a lot faster this time but I can’t imagine us being called before jan.

If you haven't heard, you're probably in the next bunch

Has anyone failed the PCT or been in a group that someone has failed?

No between the 17 and the 21st of dec! I haven’t booked mine yet!

Best of luck with it. Type out the clearance form, if it's hand written they wont accept it unless your writing is immaculate.

This Garda clearance **** would have your head melted feels like a lottery who gets cleared and who doesn't. Hope we all get cleared before Xmas so we can plan our new careers for next year

I've been waiting since febuary for mine and I'm the 2016 campaign.

Anybody who has completed the PCT how long are you there for? and what time are you expected to arrive at?

  • Registered Users Posts: 74 ✭✭Dien

Expect to be there for the day Paddy, I was there from midday until 6ish. Bring a lunch with you as they provide tea and biscuits but not a lunch. On the physical the only advice I can give is don't expend too much energy on the warm-up attempts on the push/pull machine, save it for your 5 reps that they grade you on. Good luck!
