Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good morning from Clare....the rain is Jumanji-like this morning.
I'm thinking I must gently steer OH away from quite so many fried breakfasts. He certainly burns it off but it's his arteries I'm thinking of lol. I'm the opposite of most of ye, I'm elated coming up to the start of a new week. It's the looming weekend that gives me The Fear. I'm all fizzling with excitement of a Monday morning so apologies for rabbiting on :)

    Rain's starting but I want a walk.

    That's what rain gear's for I suppose.

Met.ie suggests Dubland dry for the afternoon and the North East dry from mid afternoon.

    We shall see

Downtown Basel is so clean, they don’t allow personal cars to drive around and encourage scooters, bikes, boards and their excellent tram system, which they actually trust you to have the right ticket, you aren’t required to validate it:) Same in the shops with self checkout, there are no weighing scales to make sure that you haven’t added extra items in your bag, they just trust you to do it right.

No homeless on the streets, not beggars or junkies, quite a bit different to Dublins fair city :)

Yes!! Lashing down here. But walked for an hour or so. There's actually something invigorating about walking in heavy rain and not giving a toss about getting wet because you're heading home to a warm shower.

Putting the coffee on, then Mrs S and I shall slip into a comfortable silence as we read our books for a while.

Could be a long commute home. Hopefully it'll dry up.

Brightened up here. Sawing up some timber, I felled earlier in the year, as firewood for a neighbour. Manual saw, good exercise.

I liked Basel a lot. The watch shops on their own are worth the trip.

Outside in the sun, a Bodega on Arfe street somewhere in Seville..it's a maze here.
It's easy spot the tourists, myself included, looking at their phone with Google maps on, and still hopelessly lost.

The wine is beginning to taste like vinegar, guess it's my insides, not the wine.

It took me double time to drive home this evening. Actually never drove through floods as bad before, was scary.
I'm now debating going to bed early just because it's a ****ty evening and nothing on TV.

Last time I was in Basel I was on a BSA, it was the summer of 1974 and The Rubettes had a hit with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0OHj3fqR6Q. :) The Basel road system seemed an impossible Rubik's cube of one way streets.

Now homeside - Met.ie got todays Dubland weather down to a tee

Ah stop Sky. Genuinely I am a great hubby in a lot of ways and sometimes feel like an Alien! Mrs G will admit I am in terms of cooking and looking after her when she's low. Ya gotta do these things. Have friends who's wives are often in our house moaning to Mrs G about the hubbies. I stay quiet and out of it. Probably why they aren't let out for Wednesday night beers.:D

I watch very little TV anymore Mam. Stuck in front of screens with work, so not bothered. But me and Mrs G still watch Fair City, usually on Record the morning after. I reckon if we recorded our reaction, it would be a winning youtube page.:D

Yep you're spot on with the title, but I can't forget the lyric. :D Shirley Manson was a brief fave of mine in the 90s. A fave Bond tune of mine as well. Gonna play it now and in private.:D

I feel like I’m in hotel California, checked in but can’t leave.. really doesn’t help that there is an Irish bar connected to the other end of this building.

Tableside going through a bit of extra work for tomorrow which came up last minute, should have have turned off my phone when I was out the door:(
Be finished shortly and then hitting the hay, so night all and hope ye all had a good day.

Made it home. Stayed at work longer to prepare a couple of crucial presentations for tomorrow, only to have them postponed just after I finished them  [Insert Strong Language Here]

Way home wasn't the most pleasant today either. Had to wait for a pilot boat to come alongside and a buoy tender to finish marking out the channel ;)

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!
