Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No interest being right up top, do want to watch from a half decent spot though so happy to leave the pitch 2 peasants behind me :D

Was pitch 1 the same price as 2? I wouldn't have pegged foo fighters as the type to have two different standing zones like Metallica in slane

Exact same, it’s for crows purposes and both options were available to choose on ticketmaster (until 1 sold out)

In that case if anyone is selling pitch 1 can just swap me and sell on my pitch 2 :D

It's for health and safety reasons based on capacity. Every gig in the RDS this year has had two zones. Some bands have charged more for Pitch 1 calling it a Golden Circle but I think Foo Fighters weren't interested in tiering it.

Post Malone the next day is called golden circle.
If I were paying for a golden circle I’d expect to be in a tiny pit right at stage - not an area that goes back half of the arena.

For Bon Jovi at the RDS the golden circle was easily a third of the pitch, maybe a much as a half. Joke really. Luckily it was only a tenner extra so we went for it, I'd have been really annoyed with the standard standing ticket

Not liking the sound of this new pitch set up.

It's not really 'new'. More or less every artist does it in stadiums where there are standing areas. Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift did it in Croker, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, Pink did it in the RDS, Robbie Williams did it in the Aviva.

For record it's the front third of the pitch that is Pitch 1 and the back two thirds of the pitch is Pitch 2. So being at the very back of Pitch 1 is excellent if you don't fancy crowds as it'll be more spacious but you'll still be near enough the front.

New in the sense that unless it was a golden circle it used to be first come first served on the day.
General admission should be general admission. There'll be plenty of people who didn't buy together separated from friends.
In saying that its a few years since I was at the rds so probably more so new to me rather than new at gigs. And yes agree, the back of area 1 or the pit as I would have known is a great place to be.

It really was bar the high level of security getting in (it wasnt long after the Swedish House Mafia stabbings) so we missed a good chunk of Black Keys,

Im trying to stay away from looking at their current setlists ha

Currently Pitch 1 tickets up on TM if anyone is still trying to get them. They are resale tickets and you'll pay about a €15 premium with the usual TM added bullsh!t fees but it's still better than the previous Seatwave insane prices.

Heading to RDS next week, from Cork - cannot believe the boys are putting this gig on specially for my Birthday :D (let me dream...………) Seriously excited haven't seen them since 1997 at V97, Chelmsford, London. Every time they've played in Ireland I've not been able to go to wherever for some other reason. At last...…………….. what a perfect way to spend your birthday - I'm going to be jumping high when they play "Pretender" ………..:P

I remember Placebo and the Prodigy but I also remember having to leave the Foo's a bit earlier than I wanted to see somebody who was clashing - for the love of me I can't remember who? V97 was a brill festival - and being able to get train home later just made it perfect. :D Mind you coach to/from Dublin from Cork is livable too. Unlike EP where I have to stay the weekend (thankfully Pink Moon) :P

E-mail from Ticketmaster today - "This event is 16 years and over ONLY." I checked on the MCD site and it says, "Please be advised that the Foo Fighters concert in Belfast is an Over 16s event. With this, children below this age may be accompanied by a parent/guardian over the age of 25 years old." I hope we don't get any hassle at the gate. Our kids can't wait for the gig...

Jesus pitch 2 would be awful but not too far from the stage but the prob is people literally with their backs to the stage not giving a **** what's going on. Obv would be the same in other areas

Not sure would Foos attract event junkies but sure a day out in Dublin and Learn to fly

I thought it was over 14s only, with under 16s being accompanied

In reality that area will be nearly half empty because the crowd in there will push up the front. You'll be able to stand comfortably about 10-15 metres from the band while everyone in pitch 2 is squeezed up against their barrier behind you.

What outdoor gig that has thousands through the gates not let in a percentage of event junkies. The promoters rely on them to push towards selling out.
