Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good, more space at the self checkout for the rest of us.

They don't seem to mind putting the people that make the self-service checkouts out of a job!

In fairness, that's a policy I've always stuck to myself for those reasons. I don't go around preaching about it though (until now).

I'd love to know do they not teach spelling in school anymore?

That's not a FB status btw, genuine question.

Most of these people grew up in houses where there were no books or newspapers ever, or paper or pencils, no stories were read, no coloring in even. It was in front of the Telly when it was raining and out in the road when it was dry.
A primary teacher told me 20 years ago that kids of 4 were coming to school who had never turned a page in a book, didn’t know how, and never held a crayon or a pencil in their little hand. Had to be shown how.
It’s a miracle they learned as much as they did!

It was "cool" among teens to misspell everything for a while, not sure if it's still going on. It certainly would lead to illiteracy at some stage.

    A former schoolmate:
    "Cannot wait....hav w8d so long 4 dis....birthday prezzie bein cashed in 2nite best surprise evr....#shopping #dublinbound".

I wonder what she does with all the time she saves writing in text speak.

No you're not, love. Most 'skumbags' that I know are capable of spelling the words 'scum bag"

    I've given it a go...

Why do families butt into other people's relationships, honestly I'm sick of it. I love ****. I'm not a scumbag, if I didn't love him I'd walk, and he'd do the same thing.

Is that spelling and grammar deliberate for some reason, or are there really fully functional adults that thick?

I feel kind of bad for laughing as I googled them and I would hazard a guess that literacy might be an issue.

I think I could due with a good hoof polishing and a horn sharpening so that I can go out with my flute to play and dance in my back garden"

    Same person again :pac:

"Making memories with you, is my favorite thing to do." || Jordy Daniel

Sixty-four months of making memories together as boyfriend and girlfriend which beautifully merged into our covenant and title of husband and wife. Sixty-four months of laughter and inside jokes, growing in conflict and forgiveness, stresses and loss, excitement and new opportunities. Through every moment, I am grateful to be your wife, [husband].

Thank you for sixty-four months of dating me and pursing my heart, in the every-day moments that count the most. Thank you for growing with me, closer to Christ.

Whilst showing [husband] the newest completed addition to my up-and-coming creative line for my Etsy shop . . .

Me: (sing-songy) "See!! Isn't it cute!?"
[Husband]: (shocked) "Wait, you made that! Today?"
    Me: (pleased) "Yep!"
[Husband]: (enthusiastically) "Dude, this is amazing!! I love this color! (pause in awe) I want one, I would totally buy this for me!!"
Me: (matter-of-fact) "It's too small for you, it's for babies!"
[Husband]: (insisting) "Then I would buy one for my baby!"

    He's so utterly supportive. <3
    I love him!

"This is scary. Especially if you are the parent of a young child. This man is Phillipe Gandus, a notorious child snatcher. He arrived in Dublin on friday and is now walking our streets. He's staying in a hostel in the City Centre. The gardai know who he is but were powerless to stop him coming into the country even though he's "high risk".. The scariest part of this story is that when he arrived into Dublin on Friday, he had a suitcase full of toys. Spread the word and warn parents to be vigilant."

A guy in his 40s thay i used to work with shared this, with a photo. How do they know his suitcase is full of toys??

This reminds me of something - the daughter of a friend of my wife (if that makes sense) announced on facebook a while back that she was pregnant, and put up a picture of the scan. Some other friend of the mother posted something under it to the effect of "not being funny here, but unfair to put this up, what about all the people who can't have kids or have lost babies"

We thought it was just about the craziest and weirdest thing we'd ever seen on there.
