No doubt that they are "raising awareness".

Of what is anyone's guess :pac:

Eh, I completely understand the sentiment if this ex has actually done something to the dog.

"Missing Dog" and a picture is plenty. Feel free to keep your family history to yourselves.

Would anyone have printed all that on a missing dog poster they were pinning to a tree?

I have a few 'challenge accepted' ones with normal selfies (not that selfies are 'normal' in any real or traditional sense of the word) and they're nominating people to join the challenged ... oops, I mean 'challenge'...

The only two challenges I've seen are the push ups (only 3 of about 12 have completed the whole 22 days) and the "ok" for men's mental health.

Of their need for attention and the approval of their peers?

Unfortunately not, as this person tagged sixty females in said post!

Bet nobody 'nominated' them. Usually they tag the person who nominates them, so this is probably something they came up with off their own back for the dual purpose of an excuse to post "sexy" selfies and getting 60 gullible girls to contribute to his **** bank.

Appears to be an all female thing, probably promoting awareness for something that will literally not be mentioned once during all this shïte

'Literally'? Why doesn't anybody even seem to know or care what that word means any more...?

    :(

It won't be mentioned figuratively, graphically or metaphorically either.

Saw a post this evening! Not a friend but on one of those pages that show different articles! Anyhow, it's camel toes for cervical cancer!? Girls pulling their legging tightly and taking a picture of the 'result'. Strange!

"This year has been like living in a nightmare 1000 times more scary than any horror movie there was ever made. At first I thought I was in a dream and I would wake up and everything would be make believe. But no it was reality. My BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL LOVING CHILD ******* ( ****) was dead. How could this be . Please God NOT again. NOT after last year when you took my ********. What the hell could I have ever done to deserve this ?????????? It's been a whole year and I'm still in shock. I WONT ever be able to kiss or cuddle, have a joke and a laugh, tell her I LOVE her. I have to live the rest of my WHOLE life without my FUNNY LOVING VERY VERY OVER PROTECTIVE GIRL. 1 WHOLE YEAR HAS PASSED. I love you my loving daughter from the bottom of my heart and soul and I will miss you until I take my last breath and leave this life of torment xx God bless you my darling ******* xx xx always your **** xx"

This appeared on my timeline, while you can only feel sympathy to the poster I do not understand why they or anyone would post it. My initial gut reaction was fishing for commiserations and "r u ok/pm u Hun" type replies. Guess I'm just getting more and more cynical.

Oh gosh that was hard read, think that is very real and raw emotion. The poor lady, while I don't feel Facebook is the place for things like that, maybe someone will read it and help her get through this (not that you ever can) :(

If the post was out of character and she doesn't normally post similar stuff then I'd give it the benefit of doubt but unfortunately there will be people out there who use grief to seek attention, I have a few on my own timeline.

I was waiting to hear that the post was about a pet. But if that post is really about losing a child then I don't think it belongs here.

If your friend lost a child, R U OK HUN means sweet eff all to her. More like she/he needs a place to be able to get the thoughts/feelings out.

I agree, but I don't feel fb is the place to do it.

That's the problem, there isn't a space to do it. FB is just there, a few keystrokes away. I honestly don't believe it's attention seeking. It's best to just ignore it. Unless you think it's a 'cry for help'.
