Bought the Sunday Indo the other week and never again. Half of the main paper was rubbishing Sinn Fein? That was it, every opinion and article about them was discrediting them. What a farce of a paper, the Irish Indo is a glorified tabloid

It is basically a FF propaganda tool. Does anyone take that paper seriously?

If it's not Sinn Fein, it's FG and Labour.

FF are the bestest political party in the whole wide world in their eyes.

I think it may be the other way around now, he basically told them what to write at the NewYork dinnner and the eejits wrote it for him.

Ya I noticed that as well, it was like why bother reading this paper, it was all SF did this and IRA did that, totally no news of any worth at all.

I gave up buying Sunday papers 2 years ago. The Business Post is another lap dog.
I've never voted SF but my opinion would never be clouded by the opinion of a journalist.

Somebody needs to keep an eye on SF or we will all end up in a Goose step towards Gerrys socialist utopia

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Sunday Times is a worthy read.

I wonder does the Indo realise it is so widely hated and disrespected that people might just elect Sinn Féin to spite them?

Thats a good indication of how out of touch The Sindo is if they are giving 50% of their attention to Sinn Fein.

The Irish electorate gave them less than 10% of their's at the last general election.

I am delighted somebody put a thread up on this.

Firstly I would not class myself as a Sinn Fein supporter. I realise that Gerry Adams would have been out on his ear, if he was the leader of ANY other political party in Ireland, I also realise that Adams has made himself a hypocrite by trying to live in two worlds like an Irish Tony Soprano "a God-fáda" :)

BUT even by the right wing Indo's standards it was farcical every second article attacked Sinn Fein from different angles some tenuous to say the least.
I would not mind if it was something concrete. But it was like an Irish version of FOX news.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I enjoyed the Sindo yesterday. An unrepentant hatchet job on the tired Republican narrative. Good to see someone question the merits of James Connolly as well from a historical perspective. Good to see a different perspective than the usual fawning over his legacy.

Exactly the number of articles and the tenuous nature of a lot of them made them lose impact. I started laughing after I read a number of them.
I said to myself this is going to have the opposite effect, and give Sinn Fein the ability to play the persecuted victim. Also people will end up voting for them in spite because the indo made such a joke of it.

If people vote of SF, or even FG or Labour who also get the same treatment, to spite the Indo, they're morons of the highest calibre.

Does anyone else think that one vote per person is flawed and there should be ways to earn greater voting power? Something like adding one extra vote for every five years an adult goes without securing a conviction as an example. Slightly OT I know but the poster saying that people might vote to spite someone is worrying to read.

Maybe only property-owners should have a vote?

The funny thing about the indo is that it is owned by the same people who own the Belfast Telegraph, which is at times anti-Irish and sectarian.

And just to add to that, the Belfast Telegraph has been known to glorify the UVF on more than one occasion which is spectacular considering Denis O'Brien is a major shareholder!!!!!

Must be part of the interview process to work in the Indo.

Do you hate Sinn Fein ?

    Answer yes , your hired.

Boardering on the ridiculous this obsession they now have. However expected since GA complained to the press obundusman and his complaint was upheld. So no surprise.

They just are doing as much as they can to discredit SF.The powers in charge are terrified at the thought of the upsurge in popularity of SF,and the possibility of them being in government in the next Dail.
