They really dislike each other yes but Jones won the first fight very convincingly. Nobody was calling for a rematch after the first fight and I think the feeling is the second fight will go the same way unless Jones hasn't knocked off the ring rust.

I think the first fight was closer than people make it. There's an argument you could give DC the 2nd and the 3rd (2 Judges gave him the second, one the third) and he took the 4th round off, and Jones was never going to lose the 5th.

Jones looked rusty against OSP, and may have slowed down due to time off. I think Jones will win, but it wouldn't shock me if DC got the upset.

Well it's unquestionably the top two guys in the division, fighting for the title.

DC's last two fights have been his biggest wins to date so he's probably a better fighter now and Jones has some questions to answer.

I can't wait to see it anyway.

Just realised that Brock Lesnar headlined the last landmark event, UFC 100, while Jon Jones began his rise to the top on the undercard of the same event.

Funny how Jones has top billing at 200 now over Lesnar, who could've predicted that at the time?

WWE have allowed Lesnar to take a one off fight at UFC 200 (Brock is on a part time schedule there anyway). Apparently there's an agreement that Dana will be advertising WWE Summerslam during the PPV, which is on the month after UFC 200. Lesnar would be expected to feature heavily on the Summerslam card. Interesting cross promotion between the companies.

Also read PVZ was part of the deal she will appear in the wwe,I cant see her fighting again tbh she is so popular she doesnt need to and she's not champion material either.

No way Brock will be taking part in that WWE yoke a month after 200 as he'll most likely be still in hospital. The hardest hitter in the UFC against a guy who doesn't like getting hit in the face. If Mir didn't **** up and eat that kangaroo  then he would most likely be getting the fight. Big rivallry, handy for Brock. Madness they gave him Hunt.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

I hope Hunto is getting a nice pay cheque for the fight too if ever a man deserves it absolute combat legend cant wait to see him have his time in the limelight when he walks off shrugging his shoulders while brock is face planted.

War Hunt as the kids would say
"I'll knock his face off. I knock his mouth off and then his lips fly off. If he has an itch to scratch I will scratch it for him. I ain't no part-time fighter. He thinks this is a game where he can come back and forth. I will send this pretender back so he can play house with the other part timers. This realm is for the real fighters, not these damn pretenders. Don't confuse wrestling with real fighting. I'm going to give it to him."

If a pretend fighter can win the top prize in your sport then it doesn't say much for your sport at all.

having some trouble adjusting to critism of 'your' sport there? You obviously don't know who Mark Hunt is :D thats ok, I don't think Brock knows either if he accepted the fight :pac:

Ive only seen Mark Hunt fight once, against Mir.. Can the experts explain to me why he has so many losses, especially being stopped so many times? I know the heavyweight division doesn't have many win streaks anyway, but Hunt is made out to be some sort of monster on here. He lost 6 on the trot at one stage too.

thats just the way the heavyweight division is, the margin for error is non existant with the power and size youre dealing with, also Hunts grappling isnt his strongpoint so hes had his fair share of subs, reason people like him for this fight is the power in his hands is ridiculous

If Brock can take Carwins best shots and make it through its possible he can take Hunts.

All depends what kind of shape hes in and how long hes been training for a comeback.
Its a coin toss fight imo like a lot of heavyweight fights.

Either way its massive for the UFC, im hoping he wins and comes back full time once his WWE contract is up.

His 6 in a row started 10 years ago, that is a longgggg time ago in real world and even longer in the MMA world. Most hws will have loses, one punch could end it at any moment due to how heavy they hit. Hunt being one if the the heaviest hitter out there. 7-3-1NC is a pretty good run to be on all things considered, hes improved his game massively the older he got.

Yeah, as I said I know there is hardly any win streaks in that division, I was just shocked that he's only won 12 of his 23 bouts.

to be fair to hunt hes a bit of a late bloomer, earlier in his career he was very one dimensional and a bit sh!t outside of striking, come on leaps and bounds since then

    Really, damn didn't know that.

Then this is surely a bit of a one hit wonder. No way Vince is going to share Brock with Dana.

why not a successful Brock means $$$$$$$ for both companies

Vince is a never leave money on the table type business man. I don't think he would want Brock to continue to fight but if it was made worth his and the WWEs while then why not.

For example in the situation where Brock wins and wants another fight maybe Vince could be swayed if he gets a cut or if Rhonda / McGregor etc did a Wrestlemania match in return. Of course it would also have to not conflict with Brocks WWE commitments.

most likely this is one and done due to the length of his WWE contract and the age he will be after it but after this announcement it would be hard to fully rule out more surprises like it down the line.

Will be interesting when Brock returns to WWE after UFC 200 if he wins they will promote the sh!t out of it running into Summerslam but if he loses... what state will he be in and how will that lend itself to building a PPV match.

Rumours that Aldo is injured. Could Max get cleared in time?

Seems to have stemmed from a fake fb page for Combate, hopefully no truth to it

i get a feeling this is kindve a test fight and if it goes well for both the ufc and the wwe id say we'll see more of brock in the ufc and maybe a few ufc fighters taking part in wwe events, wont be possible in all cases as theyre two very different skillsets but at the very least a bit of cross promotion would be a good way forward, lot of common fans between mma and pro wrestling, myself included and as long as they they dont go down the pride route and keep the sports entertainment strictly to the ring and the fights strictly to the cage a relationship between the two brands can only be beneficial

Injuries and coning back looking busted up would be the cons.

Coming back as someone who just won a UFC fight and maybe being able to use clips of it etc would be good for his rep and hype alright.

They are both clever and having a bit of cross promotion and possibly big UFC stars making appearances on WWE ppvs could be good for business.

Yup they were fake, some Brazilian outlets got in touch with him and he says he's not injured.
