The missis always wonders about the fascination with disappearing for hours on a bike. When we have routes like this within easy striking distance of Dublin you can see why. Glorious, glorious morning.

Mine did too. So I nagged her to buy a bike and partake.

Now she beats me up the hills and has become a total addict.

Be careful what you wish for!

    Also - amazing photos.

Unfortunately I don't do it any justice but it certainly puts a grin on my face :D

Join an mtb club, you'll be amazed how quickly you progress. Trail centres are grand but that bike will excel on natural singletrack

    Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon.

Got a coffee and apple tart in the petrol station up the road, could have sat there all day.

I was all around there on the bike on Saturday, it was absolutely beautiful. I actually found a cycling glove on the Skerries Road and meant to post a pic of it

Found a local trail although a little steep in parts  I'm not sure who's associated with it as I don't know of any local clubs. You're right though natural trails are cool. :D

The climb to the top of the red trail is nasty. Sorry about the pic size I'm not sure how I can shrink it.

That climb is not called the widowmaker for nothing!

You should have a look at the Davagh Enduro if you fancy trying an event.
It's ran on the normal trails so perfect for beginners.

One of these days I'll find an uplift service that's open.

Rostrevor definitely gives Davagh forests "Widow Maker" a run for it's money.
