    Col du Tourmalet yesterday..
Just out of curiosity, why is the sign on the 3rd pic on the left side of the road? Shouldn't it be on the right?

The last time I did that was back in the mid-1980's- must do it again. There's something very eerie or foreboding about that lake. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's different from other lakes.

    Coffee stop!

Gonna loose the mudguard tonight. I hate it with all of my heart. Going to a single rear light too until winter.
The frame needs another coat of Petes53 wax too. Really good stuff and the dirt fell off over the winter

It's a habit of mine, I always ask for a takeaway cup. Habit of a sales rep, always prepared to run from the coffee shop when your boss is looking for you!

Exactly - have cycled this route many a time and have never seen an aircraft on the strip until this morning

A sad incident happened at that lake just a fews years ago that would definitely give you an eerie feeling if you cycled past it now.

Went looking for the Dutch HNLMS Walrus submarine this morning that was allegedly moored in the docks. Found it eventually in Alexander Basin - view is from the Poolbeg Yacht Club up past the East Link.
