Lets not forget folks. Conor was on the God damn dole not so long ago and just dreaming of making something of himself. Running his mouth and working hard got him where he is. Neither one without the other would have done zip and so who the hell is anyone to judge him on what he should and should not be saying. The man is a total and utter legend, even if he never fights again.

Whenever I see Conor say something harsh I think of when he said something harsh on this forum and someone called him on it and his reply was:
Every post I have seen you make is literally talking about Conor as if he is a god. :pac:

Conor was amazing to watch in and out of the cage. I really like him because he is Irish and brought attention to the sport in Ireland, but at this stage he is kind of getting annoying. He prided himself on being better than anyone else with his media game and he didn't mind it until all of a sudden he has to try talk smack to Diaz who beat him. I don't think Conor is scared to fight Diaz but I don't think he wants to go and have a war of words with someone who just made him tap, I reckon Conor was hoping to keep the media for this press conference to a minimum for obvious reasons. I hope he shuts the hell up and just defends his damn belts against the winner of Aldo v Edgar.

Still one of my favourite fighters, just think he needs to get on with it.

What a publicity stunt this would be in fairness. As annoying as it is not knowing what's going on, we're all following.

A glorified punch and judy show. Oh no he isnt. Oh yes he is. I am sure he is having a good snigger to himself wherever he is heading. One thing is for sure, that it is not ufc 200.

Can you imagine the chaos if all the events turned out like this? There would be no sport in about 6 months. Sponsors would walk. Conor should be checking the legalities of his situation if he has not done so already.

Lorenzo is Conor's boss. They are not equals. The sport of MMA does not begin and end with Conor McGregor. These guys have been very successful in their strategy of remaining in control and not bending to the demands of their marquee fighters.

What demands? A little leeway with regards to missing out on some intial promos? Hardly the end of the world.
The Conor can do no wrong rubbish is equally as nauseating as the people who constantly slate him.

Never said he could do no wrong. Just don't see what he has done that is so wrong.
As for your comment about how he was on the dole only 3 years ago and how we should be applauding him. I couldn't give a toss about his personal finances or circumstances. I just care about watching good fights.

If you want to relate to the working class man with this dole nonsense, then refusing to carry out promotion (that he signed up to when signing on for his multi million dollar contract) of an event that will make him even richer is in the least going back on his word, and at worst biting the hand that feeds him.

You're twisting what I said. My point of mentioning the dole is to show that Conor's strategy has worked, that's all, and so who is anyone to really start questioning his judgement now. If he listened to people telling him to pipe down a few years back, he'd most likely be still on it.

I hope nobody was foolish enough to book flights and hotels AGAIN this morning after his tweet. If it is indeed a lie, there is no dressing it up to be anything other than poor form. He had all the good will after the press conference with Dana up there getting booed. Conor was looking like the victim, now he might just of cried wolf one time too many. An astoundingly stupid move on his part.

my dad has watched the last few McGregor fights with me, I wake him up for them, he's not even an mma fan and hes defintely not a hipster, he loves Dublin GAA

I woke him up early for the Weidman vs Rockhold fight, wasnt a great way to try convince him to watch more ,with that round late stoppage. dont think he would bother watching any other fights besides McGregor.

I asked him will he still wake up early for the next one and he said definitely

Conor has no typical fan. everyone has their reasons for following him

Keep posting this kind of nonsense and you will be the one being banned. Your last few posts are verging on trolling and offer little to the thread in discussion. Consider that your warning.

He is not really a genius. He is just the poster boy that the Irish social media youth always wanted.
Man bun , sleeve tatts, beard.
A hipster good with his fists.
The #fitfam/#cleaneating/#bulking/#gymlife set are his disciples. He is a brilliant athlete and I have no issue with him in that regard.
He is exactly the hero that the people who sing ole ole at concerts , clap when a plane lands, sing shoes off for the boys in green, say Netflix and chill or go for a cheeky nandos to have the bants aspire to be like.
A generation who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing , they lap up the mayweatheresque displays such as singing snoop dogg on a retro bike, posing for pics beside flash cars and talking about money spent frivolously .
A generation who's attention span is summed up by the length of a vine or 140 characters.

Most annoying of all is the unwavering demographic who revere him irrespective of calling a guy a nazi, talking about favellas or slagging Diaz for working with underprivileged kids.

A generation of " new money", all fur coat and no knickers.

Again I will say he is a fabulous athlete and we could all learn a thing or two about self discipline and nutrition from him . It's admirable.

If he could cut out the over the top behaviour I'd throw him the tri colour myself after a fight.

Unfortunately( not necessarily by his own design)he has become the pied piper of Irish douchebaggery , a Paddy Kardashian.

Mod Note: See charter 7) No fighter bashing ( either pro org or local level - it's not cool and shows a small mind ).
    That was beautiful.

John Kavanagh seems to think there's a chance. He's 51% confident of something happening. According to his interview on MMAhour

Is all this ****e just because Mc Gregor doesn't want to fight Diaz again, I don't buy mc Gregor's excuse about breaking his training for the event promotion.how much travelling and promoting did he did for the Aldo fight ?

Just because he beat Aldo in spectacular fashion doesn't mean he was 100% happy with his preparation for the fight.

Yes he did a lot... but he lost to Diaz so obviously feels he needs to work a lot on his training in order to be ready for the rematch.

For the people saying he's dodging Diaz, you do realise if they don't fight at 200, they will most likely fight at 201?

The only way Diaz gets another big pay day is if he holds out for Conor. So if Conor won't be at 200, neither will Nate.

I thought Dana would fight the winner of Edgar and Aldo next at the press conference the other day.

Either was it's still all up in the air so I doubt no one knows what's going on.

No it's all about a team not wanting to half ass a 12 week camp, they'd write off 2 weeks if they went to Vegas now. They'll be there in 7 weeks anyway. The other fighters aren't asked to disrupt their camps like that. Yes, they're asking for leeway. The question is, do they deserve it?

There doesn't have to be some sceptical alternative. It's a simple thing really.

Also terrible example of the Aldo tour. He was BOLLOXED by the end of it. He looked totally spent getting in the ring. He looked far better during the rescheduled fight.

It's 100% off. Kavanagh and McGregor seem to think that by antagonising UFC they'll have a chance of getting it back on. That ship has sailed.
