I have NEVER heard of a promotion that actively got in the way of 2 guys that wanted to fight. Ever.

That was like amateur hour up there. I know Prince is in the news, but this isn't the 1980's. Get a green screen and a camera crew over to Iceland. It isn't rocket science.

Conor is rewriting the rulebook, and the UFC seem to have missed the memo. Who gives a sh1t what they have done for the last 16 years, the game has moved on motherf**kers.

Confusing. At the start I thought Conor is definitely off the card. By the end I'm not so sure.
Yep,after Dana said he was off 200,her certainly didnt squash any replacement opponent questions when Nate was asked?

I was impressed with Nate. He's a smart guy. He knows Conor is the money fight.

    The one thing I took away from the press conference;

If McGregor isn't there, ffs move the Joanna vs. Gadelha fight to 200, that's the money fight of the weekend!

Loved Ariel asking what we all wanted someone to ask, straight up no bull****. "If Conor and Nate both want to fight, why can't they just fight"
Dana "It's not fair to the fighters who came out here"
Ariel "but sometimes life is not always fair"

    :D

Dana said about ten times that Conor is definitely off the card, people need to accept that, I don't understand why so many are still convinced he'll fight.

    Wasn't Dana's most convincing performance….

Agreed. I can't see how people can take from that that it's possibly gonna happen

And I can't see how some people think Conor is just going to fall into line so easily after being pulled from 200.

Really? Was it that black and white for people? I've seen enough of Dana at this stage to say that wasn't him at his most convincing.

When Diaz comes out and says he's fighting conor or going on vacation the window opens for him to be reinstated its simple.

I can see where you're coming from but Dana has been adamant the whole way through and in fairness he's not in the easiest position

Fair play to Diaz he didn't fall into line looks like he'll be heading back to Cabo so if he doesn't get his pay day.

Dana looked like a fool after that,

Dana needs to ease up on the TRT and let a real promoter take the reins.

Exactly. And he even then said:

"You heard Nate he only wants to fight Conor and so I'd say the conversation between myself and Nate will be short".

Saying that kind of thing leaves people thinking that the fight could still be on.

Again he was at pains to say that he gets accused of pandering to Conor all the time and that this time he won't. Seems to me Dana is using this to get back at his critics. Also, saying that Conor would fight before New York is such BS. All that means is that he has decided not to offer NY to Conor as perhaps he thinks/knows that he might have his eyes on MSG. There is no reason for him to say Conor would fight before then. Sure he can't even get him to the states now, what makes him so sure he would get him that for any other UFC night. Dana is full of it.

Or they just let him go on holiday..

Dana said he wanted to give Nate the chance to be on 200 if he wanted to. Its clear Nate only wants to be if he is fighting Conor. That doesnt mean Dana is going to bend just to please Nate. He said it wasnt fair on the other fighters who made it to the press conference and the whole story about Aldo and the wedding. I really dont see Dana moving on this at this stage. They said they are working on the other title fight and they have UFC New York sorted. That pretty much means that on one of the cards we can expect Robbie vs GSP and the other assuming no injuries after this weekend will be Jon Jones vs Cormier 2. He made it clear Conor will fight on 202,203 against the winner of Frankie vs Aldo.

That line should be the last thing letting people think the fight is still on.

Short conversation surely implied that its a no - so there would be nothing much to discuss and Nate is free to go on his holidays if he wants.

Dana is definitely threatening to hit Conor in the pocket with no 200 or NYC fight. Will be interesting to see if Conor folds.

Ah dont ruin my optimism :)

On the whole GSP thing surely there would have been a leak if he notified USADA he was coming out of retirement? I'd assume they would test him and his results would be on the site, 200 is under 4 months away so he could possibly not be able to fight due to the USADA regulations that I only realised were in place when the conor retirement thing came up.

Kavanagh is mouthing off on Twitter again. This guy is a complete and utter tool. The man is nothing without Conor. Dana is gonna roast that fool when Conor is retired. There will be an SBG embargo because of this embarrassment of a man. Holding back Irish talent for goodness sake. He makes me sick.

UFC New York is in November though and Dana said dont worry we have that covered. Jones being fit and unharmed after this weekend might leave room for him and Cormier at 200 and then Robbie GSP at MSG

Nah of course he was like that he has taken an unpopular stance and the media are shoving it in his face he knows this but is too stubborn to give in, not only that he was clearly hiding something. (bout planned)

Seemingly ruling out NY hard to believe if Frankie beats Aldo they won't have a unification bout with McGregor in his own back yard....madness

Two Irish lads from Pundit Arena went over to Iceland this morning and tracked Conor down for a very brief chat.

Great to see Ariel with the shackles off.

He no longer has to tow the line after his firing, so he just asked the big question.
Why not just let them fight? :)

Well its unlikely to happen now I'd say and Dana saying he is not getting on the NYC card either....ouch. Nates insistence still leaves a glimmer of hope that an agreement can be reached.

If Frankie beats Aldo conor will be on the NYC card without a doubt, so it's another pointless statement from Dana.
