you know it is all ****e when Dana holds Aldo up as a virtue of promotion, he missed his sister's wedding, wow the fu cker has gone f all to promote the organisation - what was his highest ever PPV before Conor ?

Dana is definitely threatening to hit Conor in the pocket with no 200 or NYC fight. Will be interesting to see if Conor folds.

What's the capacity of MSG? Rogan and Schaub were talking on the podcast yesterday saying they think it's too small a capacity for a Conor fight.

Just over 20k I think. That's for boxing anyway so presume it would be same for this. Too small for Conor anyway.

I was dying for someone to ask something along the lines of "a quick show of hands, hands up who doesn't care if Conor missed all the promos and still fights"?

No doubt RDA and Aldo woulda been the only 2, if even. Surely they all want him there as it will increase all their revenue/viewers??

It has a higher capacity than the MGM Grand, home to McGregor's last three fights, so that's a bit wide of the mark.

They get around low capacity with expensive tickets, people will still buy them.

Aldo hates Conor. He had 18 straight wins and with one punch Conor made him yesterday's man.

Can't stand him. Hope he does get the rematch someday so Conor can give a proper hiding.

Preach. Aldo, that's pulled out more than a good Catholic, and this is the poster boy now for showing up to a press conference?

it was really lacklustre. most questions were about conor. and the mood from the journos and fans seemed to be "get him the **** on this card ffs". dana looked flustered. only other highlight was nate saying if he wasn't fighting conor he wasn't fighting at all while dana nervously laughed. it was pretty much a car crash.

Agreed, having caught some of the replay. Pretty amateurish, and puts UFC in a poor light.

It was really really embarrassing. I was embarrassed for Dana.

How did they bring Nate out now knowing he was going to clown them? Has Nate been pretending that he wants a new opponent behind the scenes.

Loved Nate for that. I think he completely blindsided Dana :D

Not looking for an argument here. I think Conor is a tremendous sportsman and has done very well up to date. But it's the reason I think he'll never be a real great look at mayweather the man went unbeaten his whole career traveled all over the states promoting himself and his fights. Still was never beaten and looked top of his game to the end when he could looked for excuses age injuries bad luck . I don't think Conor should ever be mentioned in the same breath as sportsman like mayweather

Does anybody else think Dana & McG have staged this whole bust up as a stunt? It would be genius if Dana did that. My logical head says that usually the simple answer is the true answer and that there is no conspiracy.

I have taken a dislike to Jose Aldo, great champion and all as he has been, the fella hasn't a word of English so is useless for promos outside of Brasil.

Not sure how it would be genius. It would be the complete opposite in my eyes and be incredibly stupid.

Boxing and MMA are two completely animals. Its not uncommon for a lot of average fighters to do well in boxing. You see a lot of record padding in boxing. Mayweather handpicked a number of his opponents. Also, its a lot easier to be the best at one discipline than being the best at a number of disciplines. theres no comparison.

I think that is a bit like comparing Messi to Joe Cannon. Mayweather competes in a sport that is illogically organised and governed. The guy barely fights twice a year. Think about it...two guys a year have a chance to challenge him.

How so? The aim for Dana White and the UFC is to make the most profit per event. They literally couldn't buy the promotional effect that this fiasco has given.

The problem is that it hasn't really been positive promotion. If they turned around and said it was just a scheme all along I think alot of UFC fans would just be thinking "Why?". This isn't WWE, or at least shouldn't be, were they decide to make-up story-lines for attention. I think fans would be a bit pissed if they said it was a joke.
