I wouldn't bother reading a review by the Verge. I already know what it will say.

it seemed rather harsh imo but i guess i havent played around with it.

    here is the engadget one:

They're extremely pro apple. Even the iPhone SE scores well above the 10.

Yeah, apparently the raw hardware is very good. They are still fine-tuning the software, but it shouldn't be a weak point of an HTC for the first time in a long time.
    Right. :D

And yes, avoid reading The Verge, they're mostly Apple fanboys, every android smartphones are "meh" to them.

Seems a good few of the reviews are up now. The ArsTechnica on in particular is a glowing review.

Some negative comments about focus speed of the camera but they vary from review to review.

Seems to be a very good phone.

It's the same old cr*p from htc. Undercooked software on release. They will undoubtedly nail it with updates after the reviews are done. I wonder if they'll ever learn.

This. It killed them with the M9.

As someone said earlier, 3 have exclusivity.

I wonder how long it will last.

Hopefully weeks, and not much longer than that...

They have it exclusively for 6 weeks.

So that'd be mid-to-late June for the other networks?

Where have you read that? or do you mean for the camera problem alone?
The HTC 10 seems to be pretty "light" OS wise, so hopefully they didn't mess it up.

Just the camera software. They are pushing a lot of updates though, you can guarantee it will be better by the time we get it.

Beta testers got software version 1.24 today, and one of the listed changes was improvements in camera.

I'm not too bothered with Sense being stripped down. Over time I've used less and less sense apps. I now use play music, a third party calendar, google messenger for texts etc, so I'm ok with the new Sense.

I also mod/theme Sense, so I get it looking how I want, and modify what the HTC themes can't change.

Official date from 3 is May 5th

    http://www.three.ie/htc-10/

If they have 6 weeks exclusivity, then nobody else gets it until mid June. Crazy.

    I don't think I've seen a post on the HTC 10 yet.
This is another one on the radar for a unveiling on 12th April, so just over a week away now.

Said to have a Snapdragon 820, 4 GB of RAM, 5.1-inch display, metal body, and a 12MP back camera which could be similar to the S7.

I haven't owned a HTC in quite a while. What are they like nowadays?

    Any photos of this phone?

Edit just seen link above. Bit slow to load on phone

What is that costing 3,presume it's the customer that will fund it as the price will be more than it would have been without exclusivity

No idea, but I reckon €700.

Also good to see that the hi-res earbuds will come in the pack. US customers don't get them in theirs.

I mean how much will 3 have to pay htc,it is limiting the amount of possible customers

I'm not sure, it's a strange decision. There's rumours that Vodafone didn't want to sell it without all their junk added in, so maybe a 3 exclusive was the next best option for HTC.

I will be getting one at some stage m8 running ok at the moment so I think I will wait a few months, any problems will be ironed out and prices might be down a bit,I am due an upgrade with 3 but no panic to use it

Has the promo code stopped working for anyone else? Just tried to put my order throguh and it wouldn;t and when I tried again the code was invalid.

The discount code is back working on the UK site! I've just added one to my basket with express shipping (0.00) and discount code HTC10, subtotal GBP 512.99

I'm using a family member's cc to make the payment, I haven't completed it yet tho. Billing address is Dublin and I also would like it shipped to Dublin. How likely is this to be an issue when ordering from the UK site as the only country option to select at payment is GB? As the cc isn't mine, I hope there wouldn't be any hassle with it?!

    Any advice would be appreciated!

You'll need to use parcel motel or addresspal. They won't deliver to roi and they'll cancel the order.

I'm going to wait a few weeks, very.co.uk have a 20% off your first order code valid until the end of may. Once its in stock on there I'll pounce I think!

Will parcel motel even accept something like this?

Should do, they sign for things from tesco direct and the like all the time.

Im doing the same thing ive done for the m8 and m9 and bought it on adverts.ie.

People will be selling it in perfect condition as upgrades like they always do.

The s7 was at least 700 on there when it first went on sale you can get them now for 590 plus.

You just check it out before you buy it and both phones i bought where perfect as if just bought from a shop.

Put the camera from the S6 or S7 into the HTC 10 and it would be the perfect phone along with an AMOLED screen.

Well the camera has been rated the exact same as the S7 camera, in terms of picture quality.
    Can't really fault it.

As The_B_Man said, the HTC 10 camera might be as good or better than the one on the S7/Edge.

My London based brother has kindly agreed to order the 10 for me from the UK site, and I'll get my hands on it either when I'm over or he's back. With the UK discount, it comes to just shy of €650.

Any sign of decent 3rd party cases/covers yet?

It's clearly not though, so far real world tests have shown it's very sub par in low light conditions and if there is any movement in low light conditions it ends up as a blury mess.

The camera in the iPh6 or S6 are better in side by side tests so far.

The benchmark tests that rate it level with the S7 are clearly skewed like the VW emissions tests on a rolling road. In real world conditions they don't stack up. Hopefully HTC can improve it with software going forward.

All the reviews so far indicate that HTC have some software fine-tuning to do on the camera, but I'm taking a leap of faith that they'll iron out the issues, like they have on past releases.
