Got my second email from htc a bit earlier confirming the order. Not sure when money comes out.

Apparently there's a promo code floating around which works for preorders for the US and another for Canada that offers $100 off the preorder price.

Tried it myself for HTC Ireland and also UK but unfortunately it didn't work. I also guessed a few different combinations but nothing!

Worth noting nonetheless so we can be aware of it and keep and eye out with the hope there might be something available to us.

    http://www.ibtimes.com/htc-10-price-discounted-100-after-launch-preorder-promo-code-revealed-2352860

EDIT I tried it on the US website and HTC1008 promo code does indeed give a $100 discount
    Reduced from $699.00 to $599.00

Worked this morning on the uk site.

The discount for UK is no big secret, they're tweeting publicly about it.

    @HTC_UK: Introducing the new HTC 10. Pre-order now and save 10% with code: HTC10 bit.ly/25WHIBR pic.twitter.com/s46tc7vwsN

    https://twitter.com/HTC_UK/status/720186043056586752

Makes it very rough for those in other countries that don't get discount, though.

Also got an email back from Laura at htc elevate regarding discounts for other regions:
    Hi Mike,

I wish, but unfortunately those codes are only available for US, Canada, and UK customers as determined by the local teams.

For those who don't know, here's the lowdown on the HTC UK promo code HTC10.

Carbon Grey - discount unavailable (allocation sold out?)
    Silver - 10% discount available
    Gold - 10% discount available

    Does anyone buy gold phones?

How likely is it that the 10 would be available from an Irish carrier on PAYG for less than 750?

Someone said it will be €699 with three in this thread but then you'd have to pay for an unlock code (presuming they are available?) if you're using another network.

Almost definitely. The standard S7 is something like 660 in 3.

Nice! It should be as good as the one on the Samsung S7/Edge specs wise. Am I correct?

Yeah, apparently the raw hardware is very good. They are still fine-tuning the software, but it shouldn't be a weak point of an HTC for the first time in a long time.

So you order now, pay now, and don't get it till mid May? Rip off!

And it looks to me like they are sticking an extra hundred euro on top of the price for us paddys.

Want one, but I'm not getting rode.

€530 if you buy on us site
€650 if you buy on uk site
    €749 on Irish site

    Someone is laughing at us

How can I buy on the US site?
    Any way?

As someone said earlier, 3 have exclusivity.

@ThreeIreland: Introducing the new HTC 10… Coming soon, exclusively to Three. pic.twitter.com/PwnEkjw1G9

I wonder how long it will last.

Rumour is that Vodafone UK won't be carrying it, so maybe it will be the same for Vodafone here? Someone was saying that htc had asked carriers not to bloat the phone with their junk, and some carriers aren't happy with this. I guess time will tell.

They took the money from my account today, €799. I'm trying to cancel the order but can't. Not happy with HTC customer care, I rang the UK help desk and they said they would have to call me back, never did. All emails are bouncing back too.

Think I'm going to launch a Paypal dispute to get the money back as I cannot contact HTC.

I bought it yesterday before 12 and haven't been billed yet. Got both e-mails though. Could it be because I used the Parcel Motel address as the billing address?

Pretty sure PayPal take straight away, card payments go out when shipped. I think that's what happened with the Vive.

Ah that makes sense then. I couldn't get the order to go through with PayPal for some reason, so after several attempts I just used my card.

The huge price discrepancy is sticking in my craw, I have to say.

What's the time line for dispatch?

    Do it

I kept getting €799 when I looked first, but then it went to €749, then back to €799. crazy.

I'm going to the States in a few weeks time. If I bought one over there, would it work here?

You'll have to research the LTE bands. Your best bet would be to get a developer edition. Pretty sure you can only buy carrier branded ones in shops.

They are saying the first week in May for dispatch and delivery expected around mid May.
