    Something about sandwiches

Just smashed the screen on my HTC 10. Digitiser and lcd is fine.

So if I want to replace the glass, do I need to buy a whole new screen + digitiser to get the glass?

I was on ebay there looking at an enclosure (lcd screen and digitiser) and I messaged the seller asking if it has the glass and he said it didn't. So I don't think I know what I'm looking for.

Can someone who's replaced the broken glass top layer point me in the direction of the part I need so I can fix it myself? Thanks.

PS it's my understanding that it's next to impossible to separate the glass from the digitiser so I don't mind discarding the current working digitiser if need be. Looking for just the easiest way that I can fix it myself and hopefully not pay more than €40. I already have a phone repair kit that I bought off ebay in preparation.

Yes, even for a pro it's a nightmare to remove the broken digitizer from the LCD let alone replace it with a new one. It's not worth the trouble. Just buy the combined lcd with digitizer combo.

Looks tricky enough. If you don't fancy it bring it to a fone repair shop after you've bought the replacement screen yourself. Get a quote at least. It can be a right headache if goes wrong doing it yourself.

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/HTC+10+Display+Screen+Replacement/97917 ... says it's moderately difficult to replace.

I have an old one somewhere if you want to use it for spare parts
