Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Will have to plan something in advance for next weekend, I'll get Mrs. Chimp to look after the wee one so I can get my MLG on.

Just spend the rest of this week engaged in "active listening" and you'll be golden!

"No, I gotta say, I think Sandra is right on this one - I think you should apologise".

"I think you may have over-reacted, maybe you should have a think about it"

I might be playing a different game

Yeah, it's hit and miss. When I group up with randoms I normally look for the relaxed/bounties run from /r/fireteams or destinylfg.net. Last night got a nice laid back group. We burned our mercy on the third game, got to 5-0, then lost the next one and won the following 3 to finish at 8-1. Called it quits there as everyone had completed the bounty at that stage.

I think looking for relaxed runs is probably the way to go, I was trying to put together a game plan for the few games we had, but everyone I played with wanted to be a lone wolf. No one calling out flanks, until they needed to be res'd.

I rarely play trials - when I do it is expressly only to get bounties.

For example, Generic and Dude were running it at the weekend for a 'serious' run for 7 wins. I wanted no part of that and went off and played some control. When they invited me I joined up and played out a couple of cards with them - 7 wins both times - but i'd never put my hand up for trials really. Firebase Delphi is a good trials map for me though - less sniping on it, which suited me. Had it been a widows court week I'd have flat out rejected the invite... FCUK THAT!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,870 ✭✭✭✭Generic Dreadhead

To be fair "7 wins" is just my way of weeding out the types of people who just want to run it for Bounties (i.e. 0.60 KDR, 30% Win/Loss etc etc etc, whatever criteria you want to put on it)

With Boons, getting 7 Wins just means you can conceivably go 4 wins, 4 losses.

I'm not looking for flawless, i'm just looking to rack up 7 wins before we hit 5 losses so I can get the gun and play some challenging players

Bare in mind I'm only coming back into Trials about 3 weeks now after like 5 months avoiding it

I managed the same on Widows Court, scouts are effective at all but the very best Snipers, which you won't come across too often in the early matches (with a bit of luck)

The way my Cards usually go is I end up 5-0 (with boons) and then have to try get the remaining 2 wins before I lose 4 times

A lot of it comes down to how stressful the people you're playing with are

It's grand, I had VIPs to kill and was trying to be nice to herself so I could earn good will in advance of todays updates.

    Lot's of active listening.

"Oh wow, she said that? And then what did you say?"

My idea of active listening is something like this:

"Uh huh?... Uh huh? Really? Hmm... GET WRECKED YOU FILTHY SCRUB... Uh huh... Really? "

Plus, I always get asked to do some job / house work and end up agreeing to it because I'm not listening :)

Conovar is a either a Ray of Sunshine or a Black Hole of negativity.

I would throw a snickers to Wicklow if I could :D

But yeah, me and Dudeeile and co had a few games that proved that (came up against teams with like 40 Flawless and good ELOs and beat them like 5-1)

If I could hook Ben and Jerrys to my veins I would - and that conversation came up due to fact you were taking a piss break after every game!

Yeah, I'd be annoyed playing with me given the amount of time I spend taking breaks

Lager will do that to ya, not that the lads would know with their fancy craft beers and expensives gins.

I want an ice cream now :/

Makes such a difference. I think you need a certain degree of confidence/cockyness in PvP.

This weekend of Trials is carrying a Bungie bounty with a Senior Designer, PvP Engineer and Mtashed. It starts 1 hour after trials launch, might be worth checking out for a heads up on the new changes.

Head over to Twitch for the low-down

Got a 330 Doctrine with Persistence, Smallbore/Braced Frame and Rodeo.

Is that a God-Roll or just a very good roll?

Counterbalance instead of rodeo is the god roll.

That seems to be the general consensus, however hidden hand works better for me. I play with both but definitely have more success with hidden hand. Guess my aim needs a little bonus to be at its most effective.

The only roll I haven't tried is rangefinder, you could see how that would work tho.

Not exactly sure what you're offering so hesitant to accept.

I would like to play some trials later though, not too late if possible.

I'll be on shortly after it launches at 6pm (maybe 6:30) for a proper run at it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,277 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

I might give it a go later myself, won't be only til around 10 though for anything proper. Will probably be on early enough running patrols and maybe some strikes via remote play (wouldn't attempt crucible or raid via remote play)

    Beware the "Mote Monster"

Well got that all wrong but at least it sounded good to me at the time. Although, I have heard stories on the motes of light as well but that's not what was relevant here.

Should have referred to passage coins so something like "Passage Savage", "Coin Troll".

Could go down the GoT route with "Consumer of Coins" or maybe "Purchaser of Passages".

Ima finish now as I'm getting too giddy.

    All are true!
    I burn about 200 Motes a day I'd say
And about 50 Passage Coins a Weekend

I don't mind, I have like 280 Passage Coins and 2,000 Motes :pac:

Ya'll just need to git gud!

Passage Savage is my fave cause it kind of Rhymes.

What are you using that amount of motes on?

Takes like 60-80 motes to unlock all nodes on a Piece of Purple armour, which I then in turn break down for 5 Legendary marks (instead of 3). I have a LOT of useless Purples so this is what I do. I am earning Motes about as fast as I can use them tbh. I've been sitting on about 2,000 since October perpetually

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

I have a serious mote shortage as was using them to rank up the factions to get the superfluous exotic class armours.

are there no silver tier packages?

are there no silver tier packages?

Did you have one from last week you already turned in? The Gold Tier can be redone afaik from the patch notes but not the Silver
"His Eye Upon You" bounty may now be repeated daily with easier requirements:
Reduced the match completion requirements to 7 matches (was 10 matches)
Reduced the Fireteam kills requirements to 50 kills (was 75 kills)

I think it's all a case of getting something thats like 1-3 light levels above what you are either LL overall or what you have LL in those slots, so 326 ain't bad if you were 321. Jump of 5 or so overall. What did you have in those 2 slots previously?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,720 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

    324 and 321

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,870 ✭✭✭✭Generic Dreadhead

Well you did fairly well so. If you'd opened it at 330, you'd have gotten 334+ stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,720 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Meh, not a system I like at all. All roads may lead to 335 but if you want to be close any time soon you need to grind them all. Also the weapon and armour drops on games 5 and 7 are directly linked to your LL at the time which is annoying as I'm not always running my optimum LL gear in trials. Lighthouse then gave me 323 and 324 on my hunter. Team mate gets 334 weapon, seems pretty silly for him to get much better loot than me for the exact same activity.

    loved this

It was Black Shield. I don't think you would have enjoyed this map tbh

The new revive mechanic is working as intended, more rushing to cap orbs when possible.... but the inside/outside part of this map kind of messes with that a little
