I agree with it and I wouldn't pick Star Fox as one of my Top 10 Nintendo franchises either. Emily in fairness gets more right than wrong. She was the first to say we were getting a new Paper Mario on Wii U.

In terms of stories that she 'breaks', she really, really doesn't. How could there have been silence when her story proved to be false literally hours later? She either took a wild swing or got some real bad info on who was publishing Devil's Third, either way it was embarrassing for her. She stated Starfox wasn't in development for Wii U, that's what I was referring to.

She should have stuck to doing articles because she was always pretty decent but when she started being an 'insider' she has just been throwing the proverbial off the wall. If she has insider info she's been using it all wrong. GTA on Wii U, Devils Third, Rockstar producing a Wii U game, Pikmin at E3 last year are all things she's got completely wrong.

As for Paper Mario, it's interesting because I've seen her name attributed to the leak of Paper Mario with her tweets in January. She didn't leak it at all. In fact she was about 7 months late. In May of last year an job expo in Japan leaked a document from Intelligent Systems showing the projects that they were working on including a title.......'Super Paper Mario'

She may get some things right but the amount of things she has piggybacked on and made to look that it was her 'leaking' it is quite a long list.

They're having difficulty with Splatoon and Mario Maker, getting WiiU data over to the NX so no data will be lost, so those two titles are not 100% yet.

It's more powerful than a PS4. Unsure if its X86 or (benefitting the hybrid play) ARM based. They're not focussed on the handheld component now, sounds like its coming later. Because Mario Maker/Splatoon are present in the current line-up, the controller should have some kind of screen and gyro in it though. It's very very easy to port to, and companies have had no problems doing so with their current gen titles. There are dev kits out there.

Oh don't get me wrong, all those things you say are most likely (bloody better be) true. But not confirmed at all. So yes, these are just rumours until Nintendo do there financial share meeting on the 27th April with share holders, they will give some information about what the NX is, and then at E3 they will have a huge blow out of the system, games and ports.

Sure the past 4 months 'devs' were saying it was on par with xbone, but now they say it's 12gb RAM since last week, pinch of salt is all.

I meant the system, not ports. I claim nothing at all.

Anyway, just wait till Nintendo talk about it on the 27th. Anyone can say anything about what it will be until the cows come home, but again, nothing is confirmed by Nintendo so everything except the letters N & X are just rumours. Don't take it so seriously.

Have they? I haven't seen any more than vague developer confirm all this. Whether it's true or not isn't really the thing, saying it's 'confirmed' is.

Several developers know what Nintendo are doing with Nintendo's own IP? Nonsense. It's all guess work software wise. Only hardware rumours could be confirmed by developers, and there's little in the way of anything solid in that regard.

Nope, not even a little. People who have an iota of a clue of what's going on poo-pooed these rumours when they initially came from one source too, because it was an unverified twitter user (not as dodgy as it sounds, but she wasn't exactly verified in the right forums), but three of four have since come out with essentially the same info. Devs and games journalists. They do talk to each other ya know.

I don't think the whole fake 3d printed controller story was even mentioned in this thread. Most developments I find go right over the heads of boards and never gets mentioned. Or maybe there's an NX speculation thread?

The reality is actually the exact opposite, so congrats on that. There have been no hardware leaks, NDA's are scary as usual but only the hardware side seems to be giving a hoot. We don't even know if its X86 or ARM. That's a pretty broad piece of info that probably should've leaked by now.

This is incorrect, is what I'm saying. There's lots of chatter that Smash 4, Zelda U are on lock, with Mario Maker and Splatoon at release too if they can figure out how to get WiiU data working cross-platform. And this is not coming from Nintendo people directly, rather outside developers/journos. But there's next to nothing on the hardware side. This directly contradicts your post just above.

A second hand source is not semantics. Its all rumours till nintendo confirms or denies it. And as Emily Rogers (or whoever) said, just cos something is in development doesn't mean its definitely coming out.

I've loved/love the WiiU but I have to admit that I'm super excited about NX. New Nintendo hardware does stuff to my software.
I will definitely be an early adopter this time. I waited ages to get a WiiU and in the end I just used my brothers.

If it's a choice between Playstation VR or NX I'll default to buying Nintendo hardware every time.
Whatever about ports, it's the updates to existing franchises or a new one that'll get my motor running.
I'm hoping that we'll see an expansion of the Splatoon franchise with a fully featured single player mode, perhaps a 3DS game too, the name has become so strong they would be mental not to do more with it.
It's good times regardless.

If they're remastering those recent games, splatoon needs a decent local multiplayer, Mario kart needs a proper battle mode and there needs to be an expanded Mario Chase.
And a remake of Xmen Next Dimension.
