I have tried several water repleeants on my windows and eventually gave up on using them on the frontt windscreen.
Too much wiper judder and some smearing effect with wipers.

One of the best I found is the angelwax h2Go on the side windows and rear screen.

But then I guess any would do for side galls.
RainX from Halfords.
Cheap and cheerful.

It's to prevent dye from the likes of denim jeans transferring to the leather; obviously a lot more noticeable in cream, grey and whites. While it will, over time, have a certain amount of transfer, the leather much easier cleaned or kept in tip top shape and easier to remove dye transfer, with the dye block on it.

I got the dual action polisher from argos today. Nice bit of weight in it. Comes with one foam pad. Handle can be removed using a allen key. Six speed. Backing plate and be replaced if you need to do it.
seems loud when turned on. I don't know if that is normal??

Not sure when you say there is a 'nice bit of weight in it'; that you mean it feels like a quality machine?
Lighter machines is what you pay for when you go for the higher end machine polishers; they become quite heavy when you are working with them all day....not saying its any heavier than any of the other entry level machines.

When you say loud; again its hard to quantify, but, yes, the entry level DA's will make quite a bit of noise, and very much so if not being pressed onto a panel.

NO. I feels heavy. It does feel like quality.
Now just to wait till I get pads and polishes. When you have an offer.
Can polish be brought in smaller size than 1Litre size

Never used it but I have read good reports about it.

I'm not sure, I'll ask see.
Haven't seen the results in person, but will ask and see how it worked for him.
I really neglect my wheels, they'd get de ironised and de tarred, but they really don't get any exceptional treatment, bar tyre shine :pac:

Do you have fusso or Collinite?
Then 2 coats of any of those on a prepped wheel will do some good protection.

I like the products that poorboy's world produce, I have one of their interior dash cleaner/protectors and I've yet to find another product as good. I usually buy poorboy's world products from UK retailers. An American brand as far as I know

I got Poorboy's Wheel Sealant from Detailing Shed a while back, looks to be out of stock at the moment though.

Three coats of it should last a good while & keep wheels easy to clean.

Decided I'm going to treat the car and wheels to Gtechniq's Crystal Serum Light and EXO after I get the bodywork sorted, should protect it for years to come!

The serum is supposed to last up to 5 years and the EXO, 2 years. When I did the C1 and EXO it was said to apply the EXO within 12 hours of application of the C1. Check out that when it omes to the serum.

Yeah I belive the EXO is the same story on top of Serum Light by will confirm when it comes to it, hoping to do it around May I'd say.

Was up in D&D getting a wash today and that coating made some difference. The dirt just washed off the car.

Seems to be well worth it, coming in around €150 for Serum Light, EXO and some Panel Wipe, just really want to sort the bodywork now!

What do ye make of "AutoSmart" car cleaning products? I picked up a gallon of Duet Duo (Premium Wash & Wax Shampoo) and a gallon of Concentrated Wheel Cleaner. I've been using them for a few months now on any cars that Ive washed here and I find them much better than anything else Ive used before, especially the wheel cleaner.

Also, there is silver trim on the boot (often seen on some B6 Passats, unsure if it was an option when new). It looks a bit tacky IMO on the car and I want to take it off. I know that there will be a dirty line there if I take it off from the glue used to put it there, any advice on how to get rid of it?

Not sure I'd remove that trim to be honest. It's likely to look worse without it in place....though I could be wrong. If it were me I'd probably have it wrapped.

Autosmart have some good products that represent value to be fair.

On the 'wash and wax' though, I'd be avoiding anything that says 'wash and wax'. Go for dedicated products!

Like this:

A lad I know has that chrome strip on the bottom of the boot door, as you describe. His fell, off, but apart from some dirty glue blobs, there was nothing else to distinguish where it was, didn't look that close at it however. His was that light blue colour though.

Is she a highline?
I think the highline has extra chrome bits on the car.
Possibly you could take it off or alternatively spray it to color code with the paint?

I have seen others post they have and worked well for them.

I have a George numatic. Can only comment on it but works well.
