Ultimate Team - Make 5 characters from scratch and either play against AI or Online. Playing fights gets you points that you can spend on cards which unlock moves, attributes & perks for your fighters like a basic leg kick or Ronda's Arm Bar.

Whats the difference or benefits of playing Ultimate Championships or Single Player Championships in UT?

More coins if you play online and your team level goes up faster.

Purple belt now, hopefully I'll get another stripe or two on it today.

Anyone who made Live Event picks, the rewards will be unlocked Monday afternoon (our time). Won't spoiler in case anyone didn't see the UFN Mir vs Hunt yet.

I got 2 of 4 picks right (1 was spot on)

Also while on the topic of UT, its worth and in your interest in having a full team. When people play the single player they get paired with the fighters from peoples teams and you get awarded coins for those fights. It doesnt affect your W//D/L but it earns you coins.

3/4 for me, two perfects. Really regret not going with
    Magny
because I had him first but I couldn't play the pick out the way I wanted. :(

No glitches but I'm having serious problems with submission offence and the defensive movement (where you block or dodge shots) training games. Submission offence I dunno what I have to do since I'm not letting him escape and it still only gives me 100 points. The other one the guy doesn't throw enough shots to get even a D. Anyone else?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,520 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Yeah the training is shyte in this. 5 seconds left on the clock, pressing into the guy and he just keeps standing there not throwing any shots so i can't earn points. I feel like the EV points to acquire moves is stupid as well. Oh you're a karate guy with 600 points, here choose absolutely and submission at any level you want. Feels like they put no effort into the training section, actually the career mode feels like it was thrown together at the last minute.

I was very disappointed with the career mode. Finished it already and will not be replaying it I don't think. I liked the formula of the last one where you had to go to certain gyms to earn moves. Also it was too short. I became lightweight champion and then welterweight champion but had to retire at the age of 25. Pfft..me hole

    Yup Career is ****e!
Nothing has surpassed Fight Night Round 3 for me yet. Nothing better than getting the Burger King Mascot as your trainer :v

EA MMA had a solid career too, loved going to the different gyms around the world training different styles of fighting.

What would've been perfect for this game, would be a story mode like Fight Night Champion had, only using real fighters in place of the made up ones and take your own created fighter through the story. At the very least, feature one UFC legend and play his career out how it happened, maybe Chuck Liddell.

I said it before and I'll say it again, EA suck balls at traditional career modes, do something unique!

This game is seriously lacking a run button, or more so a difference in the movement of your opponent when you stun someone. They arent affected enough to be able to gain an advantage from it. You stun someone and they can just walk away at the same pace that you can move forward, even if you flick the right stick to move a few steps you cant just rush them. The whole time they can just block aswell and cover up the head if thats the area thats stunned. Makes for some seriously stale fights.

Played a few today both online and in UT mode where I stun the other guy at least 3-4 times and cant get in and finish them off because they can just back away. Then if it goes to the judges I lose the fight even though I rocked them more than they did me, I have more takedowns and apart from rocking them the other damage is pretty much the same. It seems to be more a case outside of UT - when you use the CAF's it doesnt seem to be as bad. Also if I rock the person it should have a proper impact, they should be slower, they shouldn't be able to just walk away and go around in circles and avoid me - they just took a massive hit to the head. Also unless they throw a complete hail mary of a bomb they shouldnt be able to just tko or rock me with a punch the same as if they were fresh as when the fight started. A guy taking a beating should need to recover before that can happen, or it needs to be tied to more than just stamina.

Couldn't agree more with everything in this post, spot on. A simple hold down L3 to rush would suffice, don't think it does anything else. Although maybe make it so only when your opponent is stunned, otherwise people would be at it the whole time and could ruin the game

Im liking it but the problem again when playing online is being matched against the same fighter everybody picks the popular fighters so I try pick lesser known ones and then end up getting ko'd by some fluke spammer of buttons.

A guy knocked me down 5 times in a single fight with McG spinning kick to the face. I maintain I was the better fighter but for one reason or another he was throwing them so often I just wasn't able to evade it every time :(

Also anyone find in UT there is a shocking lack of moves cards. Most of my fighters have the base moves and then maybe 2 decent moves they picked up, the rest are just takedowns and the like. Expected to be able to upgrade them a lot more and give them specific moves I picked up along the way but so far its just been the base moves for the most.

Yeah they're hard to pick up alright. I must say I have a fair few moves on Jack Hackett now but only because I kept buying middleweight packs. I've neglected the rest of them until today, got a pretty good stand up WBW now who's tearing it up. Only lost once or twice with her online so far.

Anyone having a problem joining friends to play? On xbox one and we can't seem to play each other. It's my first UFC game and I've taken the tips I seen on here on board, and I'm ready to knock out some of my more experienced friends, but ughh...

I too would like this but then you're just going to finish the fight everytime you stun someone.

If they're up against the cage and stun, you can hit the body and down them that way. Or if you've stunned them a few times when you hit them with loads of shots their defence falls and you get through.

That's easy if he's going for the head kick all the time. L3 and lean away, then in for a kick to the body.

Easiest way is to go to Rivalries and invite a specific player from your friends list.

    Worth getting lads?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭Mr Blobby

Defended my belt for the 1st time last night.
I was getting lit up pretty much all fight with draining stamina going into round 4. Managed to pull out the flying armbar again and win.

It's such a strong move for so many reasons. Pretty much everyone thinks you're going for the Thai clinch so they try to counter. I actually let my opponent get me in the Thai clinch just to waste their stamina. After I transition out they have no chance.. Especially since it's a 3 gate sub.
