The Exynos seems to win if this site is accurate.

Amazon Italy is €749 with the vr and sim free I think

It is, but you've to register on samsung.it to get the VR from what I can make out, and that's only open to residents of Italy & San Marino

I want one of these, off contract, with a free Gear VR. What are my options?

Just went to the samsung store to take a look before ordering. Both phones look fantastic, the edge does have the extra something special. Now I just need to decide where to order it from.

Handled both today. Two gorgeous looking phones. I have ordered the s7. The edge looks fantastic though.
Not sure if I can change order now though

Edit: emailed unlocked mobiles to see if there was any way to change the order. Waiting on reply.
Not sure if I can afford the extra 100e but no harm in asking :)

Seen both of them in store. My preference would be a flat 5.5 inch version as a few other have said before. Not gone on the edge tbh.

Couldn't help it pulled the trigger on the S7 Edge, I had a mess with one when I was in the US last week in a Best Buy. pre-ordered from Voda today and with a free Gear VR!

Samsung UK for top brass... As for the Amazon. It I've looked up the details for this promotion on the US Samsung site and I'm sure most will be the same they're basically just looking for the imei number, so you can stick that in the Samsung UK promotions site the same as if you bought it from them.

I have friends living in Italy if it comes to that anyway

That article is from last November so I doubt it is accurate, more recent tests of both chips in final version have both beating the A9 comfortably , which I would expect given its a bi-annual shoot out these days, apples next chip will obviously then beat these etc etc

Did anyone succesfully managed to buy from UK samsung and ship the goods to parcel motel? It keeps rejecting my credit cards.

I'd totally get the S7 Edge. I love 5.5" screen smartphones, plus it also has bigger battery.

I checked the amazon terms and conditions and they stated the free vr is only for residents of the country ( ger/it ).

Why don't people just buy from Three and get an unlock code ? You can get the phone on the 8th from them apparently...

Also the Gear VR is only 50 quid from vodaphone

Received my 128GB SanDisk MicroSDHD card today. Previously I've used a 64GB variant of the same card. The more memory the better! :D

Yeah its a joke alright. They ask you to have topped up by that amount in the past year I believe to unlock your phone.

iD did tell me though that their unlock amount was a €50 spend which seems better.

I've pre-ordered using PayPal, shipping via PM. Order hasn't been cancelled yet.

    I bought this one.

Supposed to work with the S7 too. This is the exact one Vodafone are giving away with the S7 pre-orders.

Don't bother buying this, it does not support quick charging (like the new one does) so it's really just a really slow way to charge your phone instead of plugging it in.

Vodafone are giving them away with the pre-orders - so they will work still I assume? I charge my phone overnight anyway so not too worried if its slower than the new model (which costs 3-4 times the price of this one)

Oh. I didn't realise that it was true. Incredible.

In answer to the questions re the charger above, I have one and its grand on your desk or beside your bed, somewhere you leave your phone for long periods. It's crap in any other use as its 5x slower than just plugging the usb plugged into the charger into the phone, which takes about as long as siting the phone correctly on the charger.

That said ifs its free, grand, just don't actually buy one........also I pre-ordered off Voda today and my offer comes with
    a free Galaxy VR?

They were offering a wireless charger free as of a day or two ago. Strange. Seems to be a VR now.
