Im fully aware of the CB's financial troubles but a proper playing surface should be a priority.We have played plenty of games in Kiltoom and its fine for games when we were in Div 3 and some Div 2 games but we should be able to play games in our home pitch especially when we can expect large crowds and need a ground that will be allowed hold more than 3k.

I'm sure the pitch in the Hyde would have been upgraded years ago but for the problems with ownership/rights of the ground.The cost of a new pitch compared to the mess that went on in Oran and subsequent costs resolving that would be low.

4-25 is incredible scoring in football. conceding 3-10 a worry but its something to work on.

18 points actually!

Stunning stuff. 19 points conceded is a concern, mainly being cut open for the goals as well as a few scuffed chances by Cork, but how can you focus not on the overall performance after that. The spread of scorers and the movement and effort was something else.

Some people in the county thought it was too soon to be going into D1 and we'd get a chastening experience. Been nothing but a boon to the development of this team so far.

We've put ourselves in an excellent position to stay up now with three of our four remaining games at home - not that I'd say having to play at the Hyde is much advantage to a team that seems to thrive on good pitches where they can really make their pace tell.

I think the fallacy of these "Build it and we will win" centres of excellence is being found out. The brilliant Kerry and Tryone teams of 00's didn't have them.

every county needs one in some shape or form

if only to play underage blitzes
and for use when club pitches are unplayable

When I saw Cork's team on Friday I feared the worst for our lads and thought we'd lose by about 5. How wrong was I. Two great performances down in Killarney and Cork have completely blew expectations out of the water. Need to get the 2 points against Down at home and show a consistency that was lacking in last years campaign.

One big thing though, the performances are getting better every game. The lads are getting more confident and especially our forwards who really are treating us to some fabulous displays of long range scores from play. Can't be understated that we're playing without Diarmuid Murtagh and Cathal Shine also, two big players for us.

I'm really looking forward to watching us play Dublin. Should be a great game of football.

Down is a banker for another 2 points. Realistically, how do feel about taking any points from Mayo, Donegal or Dublin? Even if the worst comes to the worst, 6 pts should be enough to stay up at the bare minimum, especially as you'll have a great pts scored to pts conceded ratio after today. You also won the head to head battles with two other possible relegation counties - Kerry and Cork.
