Its criminal Piper was traded once.

Was hoping Heenan slipped through but I had no chance realisticly as Liz was just ahead of me anyway (she drafted Heenan the last 3 years iirc)

Ive changed my plans to compensate the lack of Heenan but it leaves me at a loose end as who to pick this round. I suppose ill see whos available when the time comes.

I thought backlund and sheiky were both pre 70s guys until they were drafted. Too crazy mad cap characters

Guilty as charged! In my defence, I inherited aaaahhh's roster and I'm fairly confident there were great plans afoot there. Unfortunately he wasn't fitting in with my plans once I took it over and getting Scott Hall was the perfect fit.

Thats the nature of the game though, I had Eddie, a tremendous character but I just felt I wouldnt do him justice in the role I had written. It was wtitten with flair in mind so trading him for the nature boy was the ideal solution.

I think had I tried hard enough I would have fit Piper in to be honest. I just had this preset notion in mind (Mind you, my main event has been changed about 4 times as the draft progresses, and I'm still not fully set on it). But when I got the offer for Hall I just thought I could do him better justice and it was better if someone else gave Piper a better write up than I would have (maybe half-heartedly) done.

Right, decided to grab a match for Asuka. AJ was too perfect to pass up. Battle of the psychopaths! :D

And Kaitlyn gives me an excuse to perv over pictures of her :P

AJ is a great versatile pick, I did seriously consider her last round. TBC made the most out of her kast year so the bar on how Lord TSC uses her this year is high.

I'd actually properly considered AJ when Punk became available.. Great value pick at this stage..

Was surprised The Chickbusters didn't go in the last round, every other year I've really wanted to get AJ but this year I just couldn't figure out a spot for her. Asuka vs AJ Lee should be an entertaining read to say the least

So it is just this round that we are able to pick people who have debuted pre-1970 or is it every round from here on out? I was a bit uncertain the way that the post was worded earlier.

Every round from here on out I believe

yup every round from now on. Why not eh, some great characters would get overlooked otherwise and it saves people having to pick jobbers in the last round, although some will obviously prefer more contemporary wrestlers whom they know better themselves instead of people perhaps known more so just by their reputation.

Yeah it's a good move, the pressure is still on this round if you want a pre-70s pick as it's a risk to leave them but it still gives a bit of lee-way going forward. Worked well last year I thought. Considering how many names that traditionally would have been gone long ago but are still available I think there will be a lot of strength in later rounds.

Will be fantastic to see a few deeper rosters with big numbers. If only to get a bit of fodder to get bigger guys over.

That said, everyone on my radar have hardly been in a tag match let alone a tag team *sad face*

    May the study being :D

sorry but one of those is a former world champion so cannot be taken as part of a team.

Despite the tag rule being gone I'd still suggest only taking people if you have a plan for them cos trust me (the man who makes the stip ;) ) you will get that fodder / extra few wrestlers your looking for.

Jaysus that trade just got even bigger!

Walt with the Freebirds ontop of the roster he already has..... (as PTHs draftee would say)....DAMN!

will round 13/14 and 15 be 3 picks at once like previous years?

That is not currently the plan...did that happen before? maybe im just blanking on it.

tbh we are actually going at a pretty good pace atm and I actually think a lot of people might need the time during later rounds to write up shows.

edit: Nice job getting MCMG together with that last pick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

iirc the last two drafts had 13/14/15 together with the order being decided by pick average.

had planned on doing another decided by average pick round alright even though I did one already (early this time to ensure nobody got too screwed by the random draw). Not sure if rolling them together would work with a planned stip but nothing is set in stone in that regard plus if nobody has gotten too screwed maybe you wouldn't want 3 rounds put together meaning someone would have 57 picks gone before they pick (could be more wrestlers inc tag teams).

I was really nervous about picking Sabin when I saw my middle draw for this round as I either wanted all 3 of Sabin, Shelley & Kushida or I wanted none of them. Relieved it worked out, especially as someone had tried to draft MCMG in an earlier round.

And yeah it happened before but considering the stature of names that are left I think it would be unfair to roll 3 picks into 1 this year anyway.

Yeah no worries didn't think you were pushing any idea but I don't think it'll be the case this year.

    Walt's roster is utterly ridiculous.
