Damn Heenan and MCMG gone :(

Will there be another pre 1970s round, a compulsory pick one or is this it?

every round from now on pre 1970 debut wrestlers can be drafted. It isn't compulsory in any round though you can opt out and just stick with current wrestlers

and yeah I know your a BH fan but already having Monsoon and the Brainbusters plus wanting to add a few more talkers to my roster I couldn't pass up the Brain

If ye don't stop praising Walt's roster one of two things will happen:

    Walt's head with explode

    or

I will trade him Piper to make your head explode

    your not getting piper walt

As Im the guy that gave Punk to Walt I think I deserve some credit :pac: Jericho and Lawler were 2 guys I wanted before the draft started so Im delighted to get them. Really looking forward though to seeing what exactly Walts plans are

Cheers Liz, he is integral to my plans atm although I am scrambling trying to make trades atm so I don't have to rewrite too much of it.

Speaking of which Steve Blackman is no longer available for trade but if anyone has any interest in Aja Kong gimme a shout, could def work something out. Really wanted to book her myself and had a fun mid card angle in mind but that's separate from my main story so more expendable.

Putting it out there, Rick Rude is up for trades if anyone is interested :)

Mines not.... and who needs Rude when you can have... Aja Kong :pac:

Actually if Anyone is interested in him Killer Kowalski could be made available. Maybe you want him as your promotions trainer or he could be HHH or someones mentor on a roster.

    And Rick is gone :)

Knew Rick Rude wouldn't last long being offered up like that. Aja Kong is now off the table for trades too folks. No she isn't going to tbc for Rude (I wish that woulda been one hell of a trade) I've just rejigged my plans and have an angle in place for her.

At a push, and I mean extreme push, Kerry Von Erich?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,025 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

I consider Rude a bigger star than Kerry, but he couldnt fill the face role I have written for Kerry, Rude just wouldnt fit

I haven't a plan for him just yet but I could tentatively offer Carlito for trade if anybody would really like him and has somebody to offer.

It's the definition of a loophole (as I don't think NWA France or the like were what were in mind when it was made, more so the old school NWA) but then again we've always said that if you can find a loophole and take advantage of it you should be applauded for doing so. It's also just some damn good research

Thanks for clarification on the NWA stuff.

Helped me with my latest pick who I was waiting on, assuming I would need some all promotions now valid type stipulation.

And with that, entering Draft life for what I think is the first time, and a guy I reckon will be a favourite in years to come:

Which roster did Rick Rude go to?

    Some thoughts on everyone's line-ups...

Lord TSC: Dean Ambrose & Solomon Crowe, Umaga, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, Jeff Jarrett, Lucha Dragons, Asuka, AJ Lee & Kaitlyn

Looks like Austin and Ambrose could be your main feud which sounds a fantastic pairing. You have lots of options though, e.g. Jarrett and Austin (isn't there legit beef between them?). Rey and Muta on the same roster is a great coup and you're assembling a top notch women's division. I'm excited to read your plans.
Bounty Hunter: Brock Lesnar, Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon, Daniel Bryan, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard, Chris Benoit (Trade), Ken Shamrock & Steve Blackman, American Alpha, Double Kong, Bobby Heenan

All eyes are on the champ and it's another strong roster emerging. Brock vs Bryan could become the best match of the game, and will be tough to beat as the best David vs Goliath bout anyway. Arn and Tully were a great duo to pick and I was impressed at the Heenan pick as I remember thinking when Heyman was drafted that if I were in your shoes, I'd turn to The Brain if I could.
SlickRic: Samoa Joe, Misawa, HHH, Bam Bam Bigelow, the Road Warriors, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, Bruiser Brody, Magnum TA, Bruno Sammartino

Very nice blend here of classic and modern stars. You are one of the guys I dislike being behind in draws because you select your picks very well. I'm keen to see who emerges in your main event as there are a few ways you can go with it.
A Brad Maddox Guy: Kazuchika Okada, Brian Pillman, Batista, RVD, Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega, The Miz, Damien Sandow & Titus O'Neil, Chris Sabin, Time Splitters - Alex Shelley and Kushida

I like this mix of New Japan and WWE that is emerging here. There's a lot of ways you can go with your main event which intrigues me. Pillman has been great value in recent games and was someone I badly wanted last year and who I would have equally liked this year. Sandow is an intriguing one to me as he has been badly misused by WWE and I look forward to seeing him and your plans for him. Securing Sabin and Shelley was tough going too but you pulled it off.
LeeJM: AJ Styles, Steve Williams, Chris Jericho(Trade), Jerry Lawler (Trade), Sabu & Tazz, Matt Sydal and Riochet, James Mitchell, Diamond Dallas Page, Barry Windham

This is one of the rosters I am most envious of. You picked up two huge stars in your recent trade and have a very solid undercard developing too. I think this roster could be right in the mix as the personalities and talent are there.
Beakerjoe: Chris Hero & Cesaro, Ric Flair, Shinuke Nakamura, Young Bucks, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, Kerry Von Erich (Texas Tornado), Ethan Carter III, Emma and Bayley

You are one of the players I'd have as a big contender to win as you have shown in the past two Drafts that you can produce quality writing and can give a lot of thought and care to every single pick. You've chosen well again this time and with Cesaro you could have one of the hits of this year's game imo since pretty much every wrestling fan is willing WWE to let him succeed whenever he wrestles on there.
Thebostoncrab: Kurt Angle, Rick Rude, Kenta & Kenta Kobashi, Bully Ray, Scott Steiner, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, Low Ki and THE Brian Kendrick, Bobby Roode, Colt Cabana

Your all-female roster was a great success last year and was one of my favourite shows. This year you are assembling what looks like it could be one of your most formidable ones yet. It looks like you have traded Rude and I bet you have gotten a great pick in return so we'll have to wait and see. Steiner and Bully Ray I would describe as wise investment picks that I reckon will pay off for you handsomely in the long run. This roster is one to watch.
PTH2009: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Big Bossman, Sheamus, Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge, Rhyno, JBL, Neville, Bobby Lashley, Ron Simmons

There's an exciting NXT feel to this roster and since that show is so popular at the minute that can only be a good thing. JBL was a guy I openly admitted I would have taken if I could get him and you even managed to get his partner Ron so you have the option of the APA there if you need it. Impressive picking so far and I look forward to seeing who features in the main event.
Paulie21: John Cena, Lou Thesz, Mick Foley, Mr Kennedy, Honkey Tonk Man & Greg Valentine, Kevin Nash aka Diesel, Sgt. Slaughter, The Bella Twins, Terry Funk

Foley and Funk on the same roster is one hell of a result for you. I'm really jealous that you got Funk as I think everyone wanted him. This roster has a great feel of classic wrestling and modern times and with Cena you have one of the most interesting characters. I'm keen to see who will main event your show.
BrianRegan09: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr Perfect, Goldberg, Raven & Perry Saturn, Paul Heyman, Christopher Daniels & Frank Kazarian (Suicide), Apollo Crews, James Gibson(Jamie Noble)

This is another roster that I am very jealous of and you may receive a trade offer from me in the near future (not that you may welcome any bids of course!) but I definitely think this is your best roster yet. There's four guys here in particular I'd love. Needless to say I am very impressed.
JP Liz: Roman Reigns, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith, Drew Galloway and Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness, Natalya & Beth Phoenix

There's a lot of thought and consideration gone into your picks, I've noticed. Tyson and Nattie are married of course; then there is the father and son connection of Davey Boy and DH Smith; Owen Hart is related to Smith and Nattie; and I also notice quite a lot of British wrestlers: Barrett, Galloway, McGuinness so there is potential for a group there. I think you've picked really well and deserve more credit than you've got as there is great chemistry on this roster. Reigns is also a pick that intrigues me as he is the number one guy at the moment and there's lots of potential with him.
Cheese Wagstaff: Seth Rollins, Sean O' Haire, Ricky Dragon Steamboat, Shelton Benjamin & MVP, Mercury & Morrison, Jay Lethal & Xavier Woods, Mark Henry, Tatsumi Fujinami

Rollins is a great first pick and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had hoped to acquire him. Steamboat is one of the best babyfaces ever and if that's to be your main event you could have the best match of the game. I like your undercard too, especially Benjamin (one of my personal favourite IC champs) and MNM, a great tag team of modern times. I look forward to your plans for them.
Shagnastii: Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, Jesse Ventura, Demolition (Ax & Smash), Santino & Carlito, Val Venis

Sting and Warrior on the same show is a dream combo considering their history. Hogan and McMahon into the mix makes this one of the most interesting personality clashes in the game. Can't wait to see what happens. Ventura could be a real hit too as he's a great character.
Stereomaniac: Kofi Kingston & Big E, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, The Big Show, Iron shiek, Charlotte, Dash & Dawson, Paige & Sweet Saraya, Mil Mascaras

Sorry to hear you're having log-in issues as I've dealt with them myself. Hopefully you get them sorted. I love the OTT personalities here like Big E, Sheik and Paige, not to mention her mother. This could be one of the most entertaining reads of the game. Looking forward to seeing how Paige and her mother do as I loved writing for them last year.
Mrkiscool: The Undertaker, Fabulous Moolah, Jake The Snake Roberts, Sandman, Trish Stratus and Lita, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, The Vaudevillains, Zack Sabre Jr, Harley Race

Race was my first choice for the recent round so as gutted as I was to lose him, I admire the pick. (Sabre Jnr is another guy I wanted). I like your women picks which rival any in the game and I look forward to seeing how you use Taker as there's obviously lots of ways with him.
ImnottheHulk: Bray Wyatt, Dusty Rhodes, Booker T (trade), Dan Spivey (chosen as part of a tag team), Goldust & Stardust, Eric Rowan and Luke Harper, The Ascension : Konnor and Viktor, Nikitta Koloff, Bob Backlund, Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady

As was noted before you have astutely brought the Wyatt family together and also the Rhodes family so there is a clever strategy with your picks that I like. Enzo and Cass are a very fun duo and should be great to write for and the Wyatts are a very hot act currently.
Uncle Walt: CM Punk(Trade), Randy Savage, HBK, Dynamite Kid, William Regal & Lance Storm, The Great Sasuke and Jushin Liger, Dean Malenko, Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy (Trade) & Buddy Roberts - The Fabulous Freebirds

Some great picks here and you've complemented that with some wheeling and dealing that Harry Redknapp would be proud of. Dynamite was great fun to use last year and was voted Superstar of the Year in the Slammy awards so he could be a real hit in your capable hands. (In fact by my reckoning you have the two guys that were standing tall at the end of my show and Bounty Hunter's last year - Dynamite and CM Punk.) That's great work and with the likes of HBK, Savage, and the Freedbirds this could be your year.
DM_7: Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero, Roddy Piper (trade), Alberto Del Rio, Mark & Jay the Briscoes, Austin Aries, Shane McMahon, Rusev, Pentagon Jr

This is another roster that could well be in the mix to win it. I remember saying to someone years ago (I think it was thebostoncrab) that a match between Eddie and Del Rio would be all kinds of epic. I notice that you can make this a reality. Piper vs Orton could be another cracker and your undercard is shaping up great too. You write really well too so I feel like you will be right up there.
Necrominus: Kane, Scott Hall(Trade), The Rock, Jeff Hardy, New Age Outlaws: Road Dogg & Billy Gunn, Muhammad Hassan, Test & Albert, X-Pac, Andre The Giant

I get a great Attitude Era feel to this roster which I dig. The Rock is The Rock and you can't go wrong with him and Hall and Hardy are great characters too. There's lots of options for your main event and I'm eager to see what you go with. Andre is another super pick and I always am surprised he lasts so long. I guess it's because people remember him from the Hogan match when he was barely mobile, but people sometimes forget that in this game you get the guys in their prime and Andre in the 70s could really move. He could be great for you. Kane vs Andre? I'd love that!

Overall I feel we have some great feuds to look forward to this year.
