    It appears preview program is open for business again.

    "The preview program is now open for invites again and it has been confirmed that Cortana will be rolling out by the end of this month.

    Here is some information straight from Microsoft's Preview Program Manager:

    1) The app should be live now to send out new invitations to new users so please feel free to send to your hearts content but please do so tactfully, while I appreciate the interest, this page will not be used for trolling for access to the program.
    2) There is NO timeline on how quickly we will accept new invitations to the program so if you get invited that's great!"

    i bought the elite console a couple of months back so seem to no longer be on the preview updates

    is there a way to get back to it with the new console?

    If you go to your games/apps and go to the right, it will show you apps etc waiting to download.
    You should see the xbox preview programme app there.
    Redownload.
    Register this new console.
    Should start showing stuff after a few days.

    Hope this works.

    Had to buy another console myself a few months ago, so that's what I done.

    The new wave of preview builds was pushed out while Boards was suffering a DDOS attack, so here's the latest, a few days late:
    • Xbox News
    • Compact mode for Xbox App
    • Updating Activity Feed in Xbox One
    • Sports in OneGuide
    • Avatar Store
    • See who’s in the party
    • Gamerscore Leaderboard
    • Joinable Twitch Broadcasts
    • Re-arrange Pins on Home and access them offline
    • Hide games from ‘ready-to-install’ list
    • Improvements to Trending
    • Improvements to Suggested Friends
    • User interface updates to align the Xbox App with the New Xbox One Experience

    These features are shared across Xbox One and the Windows 10 Xbox app. Also, only a few features are being rolled out in the first builds, so if you don't see a feature listed above yet, then it hasn't been released yet.

    Some really great "quality of life" improvements coming there.

    New Preview Update available now:

    Fixes:

    • Live TV You should no longer encounter a black screen or no signal error when launching Live TV after resuming from connected standby (using either a USB TV Tuner or via HDMI-in).

    • Quick Guide The Quick Guide should no longer fail to launch when double pressing the Xbox button or navigating to the left on the dashboard.

    There appears to be a few of those features missing for me. I can't reorganize my pins like it says, and I can't find the gamerscore leaderboard.

    Like it says in my post, they're not all there yet, they're rolling them out piece by piece.

    The Dash looks like that in the US. Just chamge your region setting and see.

    With the ads? Yeah, there are always people complaining about it on Xbox Feedback or Reddit and other sources ("I pay for Xbox Gold, why do I still get ads on the Dash?").

    Any time I may switch the region settings (for example to try out the Cortana integration), you notice the advertisements that aren't there in the Irish dash.

    Huh. I'm in the UK, so I've always had those ads, didn't even know that they weren't there in other regions.

    To be honest, I'd kinda miss them. As far as I can tell, the bottom one is always a link to the Games with Gold/Deals with Gold section, so it's just the top two that I consider ads, and even then, I don't even notice them.

    I must admit i am a bit lost, i spend a lot of time skipping through various regions and there is no difference between us, ie, uk, fr etc - the ads are always there.

    US usually had the worst spammy ads. Like doritos and mt dew typa ****. Lol. I think I even seen a McDonalds ad on it before.

    They should keep it strictly gaming related, nobody cares about all of these lame ass milked for money franchise movies and series these days.

    Shame they tried to make it an "entertainment system" instead of purely dedicated to gaming just for an extra bit of revenue.

    Sending digital gift cards is in the preview dash for 360, would imagine it'll make its way to Xbox One after testing.

    I always see recruitment ads for the armed forces/marines etc. on the U.S dash, they know well what they're doing, little Timmy loves CoD, he could play it in real life, see the World & get paid for it. /s

    On every other location that I visit frequently there are ads for Xbox One Games, or Deals with Gold. But whenever I visit the US, it's Mountain Dew, Cheverolet, Doritos, Dominos Pizza, Armed Forces ads - these are the ones most people give out about and are annoying, in my opinion.

    Yeah, that's cleared that up for me as well. The US is a strange place when it comes to ads though, they seem to accept, or even like, more ads than us.

    Have you ever watched an NFL game live? There's ads everywhere. Even while play is going on, there'll be an ad down the bottom of the screen that appears, and if the ball goes out of play for more than three seconds they throw an ad up instead of doing any analysis or anything. Bizarre to me anyway, I'd never watch sports if it was all like that.
