Kinect always worked fine for me, no problems. Same with Cortana on Windows 10. Haven't tried it on xb1 yet.

You have to set region to UK for it to be available. If set to ireland and say hey cortana it will open and then throw up a screen saying your language / region settings are not compatible with it , and then close it.

Saw some amusing posts regarding it from people who have cortana enabled pc's and phones and it would activate on all 3 devices at once

Its good that Kinect is not needed for Cortana on the Xbox.

Is there any talk of a proper group management system? Badly needed imo.

There really should be a way of setting up groups in your friend list and being able to place friends into certain categories such. I have some friends added from Boards but because I can't remember some of the gamertags, I can't remember who is who. If I could create a group called "Boards" it would fix that. Same for games that friend mainly plays etc.

Its so poor at the moment.

I just got a message from Xbox Live and it said:

"Xbox 360 Dashboard"

Nothing else.

What does that mean? Will I have to turn on an Xbox 360 to find out? I've no idea. I'm confused.

Apparently Microsoft blasted out that message to random preview users. No meaning behind it apparently.... or is there?

So... I went to watch some Battlefield 1 videos thru YouTube and as soon as I did I got a new update. Nearly finished now to see what's new. 400 Meg btw

You sure it was the latest one? Sometimes the update takes a day or so to filter out to everyone.

Sorry lads, you were right. Sometimes it's hard to keep up. My bad by the by, cortana seems to be working a bit better now.

Not sure if they have changed something in the language settings but you can use cortana with your region set to ireland and Language Region , Spoken and Keyboard language set to UK

I definitely don't recall seeing that language region setting being there before.

Must have been enabled server side so, because it definitely wasn't there after the last update for me and haven't had one since.

Anyone else having problems downloading games? They download a little bit but then just stop, no problems with the connection or live so I tried a hard reset and it downloads 1-2% then stops again.

EDIT: I got them going again, canceled all downloads, hard reset the console and started a download again, it's working for the moment so I'm going to just do one at a time.

Happened a few times for me too, also I sometimes boot to my games and apps and not the main dash , happens maybe 1 in 3 times.

Yeah, the download queue is buggered. Hard reset will fix it as you mentioned. There are loads of issues with the store also and losing entitlements to games and dlc. I would strongly advise people that have yet to go on this build to hold off for a while.

Noticed that too, my ready to install list will alternate between either 87 or 99 depending on it's mood.

It will take between 10-60 seconds for buttons to become selectable in a stores game page.

Yup, it's really not ready for public consumption, I have no idea why they pushed this build out so soon without fixing such critical issues.

They warned everyone that it was a real preview build, and there was previous indication of how beta it would be with the NXOE. Don't sign up for this stuff if you're not willing to encounter bugs!

Yeah, they even made us all go through the hoop of registering in the "Latest Xbox Experience", so that anyone signing up to it new it was extra rough. I think it's in a better state than the NXOE update was at a similar time, I'm just surprised that they haven't pushed out more fixes by now, to be honest.

How do you sign up for this one, apparently we happy few is coming as a beta to it plus I hardly use my Xbox to its fullest and all I use are games, party and friends
