Xbox One/360 Dashboard & Update Discussion (Retail/Beta/Preview Versions)

windows app has been updated (beta that is, search on store) some very nice improvements, highlight being a more functional compact mode and moving messaging , alerts etc to the right as a tab like function you change between over friends and party.

New update came out last night:

New Features:
• Move Pins
You can now move and reorganize pins on your Xbox One dashboard. To do this, highlight a pin and press the Y button, or, highlight a pin and press the Menu button, then select Move from the app menu.

You'll also find a new Quest in the Preview Dashboard app titled "Move Pins Around!"

• Gamerscore Leaderboard
The Gamerscore leaderboard is back! To access the Gamerscore leaderboard, launch the Quick Guide (navigate left on the dashboard or double press the Xbox button), highlight your signed in profile, select My profile from the dropdown, and navigate to the Achievements tab.

• Sports in OneGuide

Fixes:
• Blu Ray Discs and DVDs Recognized as Audio CDs
When inserting a Blu Ray disc or DVD, the console should no longer incorrectly recognize it as an audio CD.

Known Issues:
• Game Updates
You may encounter an issue in which game updates start at a high percentage (99-100%) and linger at that percentage for a long time. Unless the game tile displays an error message, the update is being successfully applied, but the progress bar is displaying a higher value than it should.

If you encounter this issue please submit feedback by holding down the Xbox button on the controller and selecting Report a problem from the power menu.

The Gamerscore board is still pretty hidden, won't get much use out of me anymore. Slightly disappointed actually, it was nice to see how I was faring against the rest of you (Almost always badly )

Doubly so, because with Kinect you can just hold up the code to the camera and it'll scan it without having to type it all!

It was always under games anyway - you can also plugin a usb keyboard or generate a qr code if you have kinect.

Games Failing to Launch
(Gems of War) - Certain games (Gems of War, etc.) should no longer fail to launch due to an error in which a large red question mark is displayed.

Yeah, think it shows the percentage of the download wrong. It not at 70 % when it says it is. Will eventually update itself.

Pretty sure that it's just downloading the files that have changes, so the first 70% is just running a scan to see which files have changed. At least, that's what I'd hope they're doing.

If there was a bigger update, then it'd probably slow down sooner.

Good breakdown of new stuff, this looks to be one of the more useful and feature rich updates for a while.

Achievements on the side bar will be a nice one for me

Just installed it, a lot of new stuff hasn't been switched on yet but I could be imagining it but it really feels like it's faster now too. Achievements on the guide are nice and they have added a line as a spacer on the friends list which makes it look cleaner.

Beta app is now updated to v15.15 not seeing any major changes to it , the friends list on the right does seem to have smaller items though, fitting more on screen at once.

There's a new trending option on the left, and a shrink button up the top.

Achievements on the side bar is SUCH an improvement over the previous snapping, so much easier and much quicker to browse

Purchase Xbox 360 Backward compatible games: Games today will be discover-able via Game hubs and Activity feed and over the next 24 hours the Store programming will be live for a full end to end purchasing experience.

New update, main feature seems to be the introduction of factory reset with the ability to retain games and apps on the internal drive. Now that could be useful.

Factory reset and keep games and apps - A new feature is now available for all of Preview which allows you to factory reset your console while keeping games and apps installed on your internal hard drive. To do this, navigate to Settings > System > Console info & updates > Reset console, and select Reset and keep my games & apps.

New Quest:
Xbox Chatpad Deal - Give us feedback on purchasing Xbox One accessories from the dashboard in this new Quest accessible from the Xbox Preview Dashboard.

Controller Firmware Update:
Xbox One Elite Controller - The Xbox One Elite Controller received a firmware update at the beginning of 1603. This update enables configuration of thumbstick sensitivity curves in the Xbox Accessories app.

When you did a factory reset before, it completely formatted the hard drive so all downloaded/installed games were deleted. Now you can do a factory reset whilst keeping your installed games.
