yeah Cam's got greats like Ted Ginn Jr helping him out

Benjamin has been a major loss, no doubt, but Olsen is one of the best in the league, and that OL is pretty good. In the interior of it especially. Add Stewart to it, and you can't really give out too much about the Panthers' offense.

Funchess came on really strong in the last half of the season, although that also correlates with when Cam really started to progress as a passer in the pocket.

With Graham and Lynch out, are the Seahawk's option any better? Not really, for me. Definitely not with that OL, either.

Anyway, point is, I think the MVP conversation shouldn't be so cut and dry in the eyes of nearly everyone. Cam hasn't been the run away standout player, for me. He's been matched, if not surpassed, by Wilson, Palmer and Brady.

    Wilson had 302 and zero TD's rushing yards to Cam's 286 and 4 TD's

    FYP.

    Or over the full season

    636 yds + 10TD's to 553 and 1 TD.

As mentioned above it's the ability to win tight games over the course of the year that has the panthers 15-1.

If Wilson had performed at his current level over the course of the entire year he would be in the conversation (and the seahawks probably would have won the division and have a first round bye).

you can quote stats all day and come up with excuses for his losses, the bottom line is he didn't get it done in the first half of the year.

Well, his defence blew it though. Panthers defense didn't.

That's not Cam or Wilson's fault, especially when playing at a similar level.

Muhammad Wilkerson broke his leg yesterday.

God knows what that'll cost him in free agency.

I don't even like Wilson, he infuriates me, but I think he'll retire as one of the all time greats. An elite QB. This year has really solidified that in my mind, when you consider the state of that OL, Beastmode and then Rawls going down, and both his TEs getting hurt.

I do not see the same for Cam.

I am not sure that Beastmode going down hindered the Seahawks. Rawls numbers were a lot better.

Remember that the Panthers were the worst 6-0 team ever supposedly. People were thinking the Seahawks would be in the running at the start of the season, who thought the same of the Panthers? And it isn't because they thought Wilson would be great either, he has exceeded expectations but I don't see him as the MVP. Now it comes to the MVP discussion and people decide that the Panthers really had all the tools to make up for Cam? Don't think Cam has it guaranteed but I don't see Wilson being the threat.

The Seahawk defense has also been pretty great, averaging less than 300 yards a game.

Wilson was running for his life for the first half of the season. I don't think there's a single quarterback in the league who would have looked good in his situation.

Yeah I'm interested to see what happens. It likely kills any prospect of a tag and certainly kills his hopes of 100 million.

Maybe a 1 year "prove it" ends up his best bet depending on recovery time. Just shows the danger of busting your balls without long term security... best going the Eric Weddle route of phoning the whole thing in.

Tom Brady. Philips Rivers. Everyone can see they are doing incredibly well for the tools they have right now. Aaron Rodgers has done in it before too even if he has had a load of bad games this season. Philips Rivers is someone who has obviously been held back by being on a rubbish team. Heck the Vikings OLS has been terrible as well even if Bridgewater isn't good enough to compensate

Devastated for him! If there's one player on this team that deserves to get payed its Mo, he's been the ultimate professional since day one. I dont think he'll hit free agency this year though as I suspect the franchise tag will be used on him. Hopefully it was a clean break and we'll see him back after the off season

Manning on the standing ovation he got when he came in to the game yesterday:
"I'm pretty sure they were sitting in the same seats when they were booing pretty good six weeks ago against the Chiefs after my fourth interception"

    /mic drop

Just as well for him that he has the legs to do it. Poor auld Brady's been playing behind the worst O line in the league and hasn't the luxury of running around, or running for his life. He just had to suck it up, take some savage hits and put up excellent numbers while dong it.

Leg break for Mo nowhere near as serious as an ACL or similar so that's a big positive.

As long as it's clean break and re-hab looks to be going fine I don't see many teams having a massive issue. Certainly won't get anywhere near $100m now though. Very unfortunate for him.

Jeff Fisher goes 7-9 again. Literally nothing can keep that man from posting 7-9 seasons in St. Louis. :pac:

    Such an awful coach.

Funny stat I read today, the Rams attempted 4 fake punts this year, the 1st time a team has done that since '04. Who was the coach of the Titans that year?

He'll still keep his job though.

And after getting all those draft picks from the Redskins as well they still haven't made the playoffs. I know their division is significantly better than the NFC East but the Redskins who, let's be honest they fleeced, have made the playoffs twice since the trade.

Actually there is one thing that can stop him going 7-9 in St. Louis, that's a move to LA....!!!!

Rams have got arguably the best defensive player in the game on their roster too, even including JJ Watt. Aaron Donald broke PFF's all-time grade this season, which was previously held by Watt. He posted a perfect 99.9 for the year.

    What a beast!

Word coming out that Peanut is out for the rest of the year for the Panthers with a torn ACL. Sad way to (in all probability) end his career if true. Would hope he'll retire a Bear after the season ends. Hoping the panthers win the whole thing out now.

I was sceptical it was even true, but there's more reports of it coming out now. Apparently we can expect TMZ to have a photo/video soon.

They are not going to change coaches if they are moving in the off season.

he apparently gets on well with local reporters so there is not much critical coverage of him.

I'm amazed the fans put up with it. All the high draft picks they got over the last few years and very little to show for it Donald aside.

They should have ditched Bradford years ago. They still have no franchise QB and if they move to LA will have to restart building a fan base.

But still Kurt Warner was pretty good back in the day.
