Is there any way to adjust the screen settings to better hold battery power? GSam battery Monitor is telling me that the vast majority of the batter is being taken up by the screen.

Also what's the best ROM for OPO? I'm running CM12.1. I've also heard of Oxygen and Sultan, but which are the best? What are the pros and cons of each?

Well that's a fairly complacent attitude. One good storm and the line will be in the sea there.

I was just checking the screen size of my OPO and I am getting 5.5 inches using physical buttons and 5.2 inches using onscreen buttons.

Am I doing it right? Does the onscreen buttons take up .3 inches?

That's the way you want a smartphone, that the screen on time is what uses the battery not some rogue app. Set the brightness manually to the lowest you can bear and only turn it up when needed, there's a slider in quick settings you'll get to even when you can't see the screen. I'd avoid battery saver apps, they can actually cost you battery, just use the inbuilt android battery stats.

Oxygen is lollipop, there's no point in going through the trouble of flashing and staying on lollipop. Sultans is marshmallow but is running some source code and drivers from lollipop until Oneplus release the code in an official ROM in mid January. For this reason I'd stay with what you got until then as there are bugs. Sit tight for 2 weeks or so

What's the best way to monitor for rogue apps?

Since I've set the likes of Facebook to ask for permission to access my location, it seems crazy just how often it does!

Just keep a check on what's using your battery using the built in battery stats then have a play with the sync settings in individual apps, Facebook, Twitter etc, they can all be culprits.

You can also install the Xposed kernel which opens many doors. You can then use modules like Amplify and Greenify to control wakelocks and control app hibernation which I find is miles better

    WiFi Calling.

My network provider (Giv Mobile) supports it but I can't see if the OnePlus One can do WiFi calling.

I've had the phone for just over a year now and only recently have I noticed the LCD Density setting. What a great feature, should be on all phones.

    What exactly does it achieve?

Changes the resolution of the screen. I've mine set to 400 gives me much more real estate. I also use the Nova launcher and set it to 7 icons high by 6 icons wide and 7 icons on the dock

My friend has a oneplus one and he looses the ability to make calls and send/receive data after about 30 minutes. He has to reboot and he can go again for another half an hour or so. He has done a factory reset - no joy. He doesn't mind if he has to buy a new phone but the Oneplus is less than a year old. has it had it?

Could it be a problem with the Sim card or his network? Has he eliminated this as the source of the problem?

Slight side effect of it causing "not compatible with your device" errors for most of the apps on Google play though, I reverted because it was too annoying having to sideload everything.

Has anyone had GPS issues where you cant get a good signal? I had to download an app to fix it and run it almost every time. I thought a wipe and reinstall would help but it hasn't...

I'm on CM 12.1 and have noticed that Cyanogen Recovery doesn't actually have a backup option. Was hoping to root it, so I can use things like GSam Root companion and just other things that a backup would be good for. Has anyone else experienced this and are there any alternatives to backing up? Very hesitant to doing anything like that if it might mess up and don't have the recovery option.

Now that I think of it that might have been forcing changes in the DPI that did it...

The play store breaks if you change the dpi.

Is there a way to verify whether the bootloader is unlocked?

Not broken for me, I have no problems at 400dpi on Exodus. I think the Google Play Services fix is built into this and the Cyanogen ROMs.

I just got offered an update to 12.1-YOG7DAS2K1. I'm already on 12.1-YOG4PAS3JL.

Anyone else get offered an update to 12.1-YOG7DAS2K1 and if so what if anything will I notice by doing the update?

Edit: Just figured out here https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/12-1-yog7das2k1-cm12-1-1.420324 that it's an incremental update which adds Cortana Personal Assistant (Alternative to Google Now), some bug fixes and more up to date security features.

Problem is it's just for non rooted devices. If you have a rooted device you need to wait for the full ROM zip then download and flash it. I'm using TWRP and each update is making me wonder why I bothered rooting :-(

Adds Cortana anyways, but it can be removed after, more details here:

Why anyone would want Cortana on their Android in its current state is beyond me!

Works fine you need to set a fixed IP address for the go pro. I have a go pro and have set it up this way .

There are threads on google for it, One Plus One Go Pro Static IP

Have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised with the battery life on the OPO. Have got 6 - 7 hours of pretty heavy use

Just about getting 12 hours out of the phone with moderate usage. Android system using up most of battery, anyone know when the Marshmallow OTA update is due?
