What do you mean exactly? Its a standard 2amp charger so if you're not happy with the one that comes with it then take your pick.

Ugh. The most recent update seems to be an absolute battery hog.

    What version are you on?

I'm on 6.0.1 13.0-20160124-NIGHTLY-bacon. I updated 4 days ago and never really noticed much difference. Today though bizarrely my phone went from 100%-15% in less than 4 hours.

I normally would get 1 day easily and at a push 2 days. I'm hoping this is just a once off.

Can anyone advise on covers? I never bought at the time but I need one for my new OnePlus X - the Karbon one looks great but a ripoff at €25. Are there others as good?

I also need a cover for my old OnePlus One. Any recommendations?

I saw this thread about oneplus phones and was thinking about getting one later in the year. So I signed up to the site not expecting an invite quickly. Now have an invite which I have to use within next 24 hours! So I won't be able to - will I be able to get another invite when I am ready. Also although there is a lot of info about the phones and their site I actually cannot tell if the oneplusx and oneplus2 are both dual sim. Also what size are they? How do they compare with Samsung dual sim phones?

I think the invite system is now gone for all oneplus phones. lf you want to compare phone sizes this site http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size is really good.

Diztronic TPU are very good. I got a black one on Amazon - very pleased with it.

Search Amazon for a blackberry play charger (the wall wart one ie integrated plug) - I've got a few of them, 2 amps and come with interchangeable international plugs. I think I saw one in the China bargain shop in Phibsboro shopping centre a while back.

Just thought I'd share my experience of installing 2 replacement OPO screens. I bought both of them from the same seller on Aliexpress. Went with the one that came with the silver midframe already attached. The midframe was not new (old battery glue still on it) but, apart from one very minor ding on the first one, looked perfect. Screen itself was new although probably not original - very faint traces of the digitizer visible under certain lighting conditions and angles with the backlight off (I compared it to a friends original OPO screen) but in no way noticeable under normal conditions. Display quality is at least as good as the original if not a bit better - seems to have higher brightness and whites are a bit whiter which I prefer. Buying with the frame already attached saves picking out glass fragments from the old screen and potential problems when attaching a new bare lcd screen to the frame. I did a screen only repair on my old Moto G and despite lots of fiddling around with 3M double sided phone screen tape the LCD started to lift after a few weeks. Having said all that bare OPO LCD screens are a lot cheaper and I see that custom double sided OPO stickers/tape is now available on aliexpress - just search for oneplus one sticker. From what I've seen on the feedback from various aliexpress buyers some of the screens do not have working notification lights +\- capacitive button lights. I think I read somewhere if you're a buying a screen without the frame you might need to transfer some kind of light guide from the old screen to get the capacitive button lights to work.

I used this guide for dissembling the phone. I think there's slightly less taking apart needed for the bare screen as probably don't need to take out the speaker/charging board.

I have a mobile phone repair toolkit I got on eBay but most of the Aliexpress suppliers supply tools which would probably be ok. Also a good idea to have a container for the screws - they're all the same size apart from the one that holds down the motherboard. A bright light eg a desk lamp is essential too.

I won't do a step by step guide as almost everything is covered in the above link. Instead I'll just point out some potential pitfalls.

Take care not to puncture/bend the battery when removing. A metal spudger comes in handy here for breaking the bond between the battery and midframe BEFORE applying any significant leverage. Pay careful attention to the position of the ribbon cables that run under the battery to avoid damaging with your spudger.

By using the tip of a craft knife it's possible to get the white water damage/warranty sticker off without damaging it although your warranty will be shot anyway when you replace the screen with a non-orginal one.

The ribbon cables with the volume and power buttons are easily damaged and extremely difficult to replace as they're soldered to the motherboard. Be careful not to damage them when releasing the clips that hold the plastic motherboard cover. Once the cover was off I used the tip of a craft knife to very gently work them out from under the little plastic lugs that hold them in place - start at the end furtherest from the motherboard.

Be careful when taking out the earpiece too - get the flat head screwdriver right under it before applying upward pressure - I think I approached it from the side. If you're worried about damaging it you could order one at the same time as the screen - they're only €2 and beats waiting another month for it to arrive if you do damage it.

The speaker board is a little tricky to get out too - it's on a flexible cable with lots of branches and some more rigid bits of pcb attached. It's held down by some small plastic lugs at the edges - just take your time and it will come out with some very gentle pressure.

If you get the screen without the midframe be sure not to damage rhe thin black plastic rim around the old screen when removing it. Also avoid excessive heat if using a hair dryer/heat gun to soften the old adhesive aa this will damage the frame. Might be worth getting some isopropyl alcohol from the chemist to clean off the last of the adhesive from the old frame before applying the sticker for the new one.

Test the new screen before reassembly and obviously check everything is properly connected before reattaching any of the covers.

All in all it's not a very difficult job & I don't have much experience at all. Just make sure you proceed with caution and don't rush things & use the minimum of force.

The best charger that works for my oneplus one is the one that came with a galaxy tab i got a few years ago. I can get charged fully from 0 to 100 in approx 90 minutes!

Maybe look at the micro USB chargers for tablets. I know carphone warehouse have a charger kit for tablets juice pack its called.

Wondering if anyone experiencing problems with their data coverage. I'm with Vodafone but recently can very seldom get better than edge. Mostly almost no data at all. I've Googled it & made the changes in settings. Seems to improve things for short while but then seems to go bad again. Not 100% sure that I've all the correct settings. Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi all,

My OPO is using a lot more battery the last few weeks than previously. Today I started out with 100% at 7:45am and I'm now (5pm) down to 25%.

The screen has been on for 1hr 26m which used up 10% of the battery, the Android System has used up 6%, Bluetooth 6%, Topaz 6% (my fuel card app which I didn't use it at all today), 39m's of voice calls totalling 4% of battery, Android OS 4% and System UI 1%. There are a few others such as WiFim Chrome, Phone Idle and Email etc all of which are showing as 1%. The reported total is only 40%, how is that possible?

When I look at the history detail it is showing bars for Mobile network signal since the last charge as well as GPS on, WiFi, Awake and Screen On. The Mobile Network signal is mostly green all day which I'd expect, GPS is almost zero, WiFi is a solid blue line all day, Awake is almost a solid blue line all day and Screen On has intermittent sessions of blue bars during the day.

Does any of the above seem normal/abnormal?

Is there a good app or way to figure out what in fact is eating my battery and why the system battery analysis is only showing 40% of what's eating my battery?

I'm rooted so should be able to install anything.

Edit: I forgot about G Sam battery monitor - which I think I trust more than the system battery app!!

Here is it's analysis of my usage today

    w7ir2e.jpg

And here are the three apparent culprits

    atsrp1.jpg

    28hocco.jpg

    2ujjdrk.jpg

Any suggestions as to what the "Q" app is and why it's hogging almost 2 hours CPU time? Can I delete it?

Same with the Bluetooth Wakelock. It used almost 1.5 hours CPU time which is nuts given I only used Bluetooth for about 10m minutes in the car this morning.

One thing that always drains the battery fast for me is Google Play services. By default it is setup so that it can keep the phone awake even though the screen is off.

Go to Settings -> privacy -> privacy guard -> three dot menu in top right corner and make sure built in apps is selected. Then in privacy guard, scroll down to google play services and long press on it. In the menu, make sure that Wake Up, Keep Awake and Auto Start are turned off.

You might then start to get a message every now and again saying "Google Play Services" has stopped working. To get rid of this message go to: Settings -> apps -> three dot menu and select reset app preferences. You may then have to go back and make sure that the settings you tyrned off for play services haven't turned back on.

As far as I can tell, the above procedure does not effect any other functions on my phone.

The Q-app (I'm guessing here) might be something to do with the processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon), so I would be slow to delete it, although that may not be possible.

Had my one plus one 64gb about a year now and see no reason to upgrade yet (easily as good as my Note 2) but I need to get my hands on another one. Saw earlier in this thread someone paid nearly full price in CEX for a 2nd hand one. I guess they are holding their value!

I may have to upgrade to the one plus two to pass this phone on. 😕
    Anyone got any suggestions?

I've got a new phone and tbh I'm glad to see the back of the OnePlus one. Apart from the battery life and time taking the charge, issues I had related to charge port and the headphone jack. More recent performance issues didn't help either

What did you move onto thomasj?

I took the huawei gx8 as a short term option just until the galaxy note 6 comes out, will then have a look at my options again.

I have a few sighs about a few things the phone has but the battery of this device is a major upgrade from the OnePlus one. Premium feel and I believe i can use quick charge on it but haven't checked it yet.
