Kids were guessing what the next storm would be called beginning with g. Daughter reckoned Gayle. It will be Gertrude

Jesus Christ on a bicycle it hasn't stopped raining here all day. The amount the river rose in the space of 2 hours is frightening.
And me looking at the slurry rising up to the slats at an alarming rate.couldn't spread it with a helicopter down here. This reminds me of that Johnny Cash song "How highs the water momma ". And tomorrow's given worse.

What's normal. Bridges washed away in Britain and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened here (although maybe we build better bridges here).
They're saying another storm New Years Day.
Slaney is looking like it will flood enniscorthy with all this rain this evening.
Those bridges were most likely built by our dear ancestors so don't knock them

Road is flooded outside. As long as drivers take it slow through it they're fine, but expecting someone to barrel through it on the deep side of the road and get stuck. Graignamanagh is now flooded. Could nearly do with the plans of that boat that Noah built.

Well i'm in NW wexford. This rain looks to be really hitting cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, wexford and Carlow probably a lot more as well.

Strong winds here all night in westmeath

More rain here, even more satisfying when I'm off on holidays. Looking at about 12ml over 24 hours. Every little helps in keeping that bale feeder and feed trailers parked up in the calf sheds.

Think ur from west along so crookstown still cut off!!
Kinsale road and sarafield roundabout flooded but passable bandon n71 closed. So head via clogdubh get to top of hill travel cross country behind crookstown and come out behind beak na mblath. Pull out Google maps once all those places avoided...ull b grand!!!

High winds in W Cork here now. Sound stronger than last night's storm. Power gone since before 9.00. Had severe rain last night with resultant flooding. Bandon flooded again but receding. Was hoping to be putting up shuttering for a parlour with a neighbour today but this wind is ruling that out.
