Mike Gatting ? He's gone up a fair bit in the culinary world. Back in his heyday 10 pints of bitter followed by a curry, a punch up and a night in the clink was dinner for him.

They obviously do this a lot at Lords, they have the special cart for it. I never thought Bobby as arrogant, most chefs at this level need a certain amount of confidence which is borderline arrogance I suppose.

They are going to be way behind time-wise

FWIW it looks like Middlesex v Hampshire in the cricket.

If so this was filmed on June 18th. Gatting's birthday is June 6th 1957. :-)

    amazing

FFS - this is more s logistics test than a cooking test

There is nothing at all 'appealing' about the diners!

Main course was a dog's dinner

I think he means its a strong tasting fish, it is a bit oily compared to say Cod.

More juice, smaller cuts and its an excellent winter stew in a good pub. Didn't look like fine dining.

    Salt marsh lamb? Mmmmhhh

Eh.. 'Gentlemens relish' is now slang for semen. Christ above.

    Marcus rates Danielo highly

It will be interesting to see how his Mackerel and Cheese ( fondue) turns out

You wait all your life for salt marsh lamb and 2 come along at once

Marcus never said at the beginning how many were going through, so there could be blood yet.

Danielo lacks confidence - but he is underselling himself

Well what I was 'laughing' about was that Red Kev says it is urban slang for 'semen'

I was getting the spelling of the Italian embassy chef wrong - it's Danilo

He is such a great individual- charming and unassuming

    Hope he goes the distance

I had him confused with someone who did coloured pasta in the first round, I think - who I didn't like. That wasn't him right?

Because if it is, he's grown on me a lot. That and the food looks savage.

If memory serves me right that was Danilo who tried the 'pink pasta' in the first round ok
