not particularly legal of him to offer to tax it for the year as a limo before sale - but if he did and you drove for 12 months for 95 bucks tax, seeing as the cheapest road car to tax would be 100 quid more, get your rebate plus the tax saving - technically you are already up before you get anything for selling/scrapping the car.

If you get the tax rebate it means the car has been registered in a different country so no worries about motor tax here anyway. I'd imagine getting it through the mot in the north could be an expensive mission, but maybe not. But very cheap motoring if it is driving, even only for a few months

Judging from the number plate that would have been a ministerial car. I think all cars registered as 1 in the county belongs to a mayor?

Not all countys - Dublin, Cork, Limerick and I think Waterford only.

Merc S600 V12 with test until 2017 and tax until end of Feb 2016 for €2250. You would wonder if its on a PSV but if it has been insured classic as stated then I would doubt very much so. Even still I'd drive it on as is

^^^ terrible ad really one picture and "petrol beast" line made me cringe.

Wheels let it down to imo.

I'd like to see pics of interior to see what a mere 123k miles have done to her. She should only be getting run in at this stage.

Wheels are awful, needs AMG monoblocks. Ad is a bit odd, cringey alright but mentions the refitted parts of the cooling system. And no sign of a reg plate or more pics.

I sat in one of them at the launch in Geneva in March 1991, 'twas a couple of days before Paddy's Day. Always liked them.

BMW 740iL. Looks well looked after, might be pricey but it's got a serious amount of options. €2900, NCT till May '16

Advertised for €3500, but in the comments he says he'll accept €2900.

    BMW 728i, NCT 06/16, €1950.

No pics of the interior is a bit off putting, as is the 6 cylinder, but it's a fine engine for the car.

Looks like a great find if genuine. :)

The absolutely bizarre thing about that E38 advert, is that the E38 show in the picture with the fog lights on isn't even the same car!

    http://betterparts.org/photo/bmw-7er-e38-02.html

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,902 ✭✭✭power pants

are the double twin exhausts factory standard as the guy claims?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,653 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Alpina B12s were the only E38s with exposed exhausts, no other E38 of any kind ever had them. No doubt its a nice spec, but lies galore.
You'd wonder what the outside of it is really like.

The lining under the boot lid is aftermarket too, very odd.

He has 31 positive feedback on his profile, yet only sold 2 items......hmmm

EDIT : Nevermind Im an idiot. It simply means he has feedback from buying stuff! Sorry Dave.

A little over budget, but you can't look past that mileage if genuine.

I cant look at that wood, its vile.

Nearly 16 years old and has crappy spec and to top it all off nearly 7k. Think id rather that 7er posted previously.

interior is shocking. doesnt even have fogs either

Wouldn't be my taste or ideal spec either but I do like a good low mileage bus.

that e38 : "rare gear stick with wood/chrome insert" , chrome line gearsticks are rare, he did the same thing I did and got the less rare wood and leather stick from an e39, you can see by the difference in the wood grain on it.

No doubt that car is nicely loaded , the interior 2 tone is annoying in my book, but this chap is living in a fantasy world if he thinks most of that stuff is OEM.

Every second thing in the ad is "rare" :D

    2003 S320 CDi. 09/16. €2500.

Facelifted version with the usual extras. Not my preferred colour but a nice bus for the money. 2003 version had a lot of the earlier niggles ironed out.

Or this one, the NCT was done earlier this week. The radio doesn't work, 260,000 miles will put some people off, the ad is a bit messy and doesn't inspire confidence.

    S320 CDi. 02/17, €1900

    GS 450h. NCT 08/17 !!. €5400

No mention of the battery being good or bad, but repairs seem to be cheap and handy enough for someone willing to give it a bash.

didn't it have a battery problem then ? if somebody did all the work to replace a dead cell id say they deserve the profit.

Nope well no mention of it in the ad but I should have bought it as it was for nothing. I missed out on a lovely LS 460 last week too..

A green S class. Who does it. Mind you it is not the worst stand out colour. My jaw dropped the other day when I passed a bright red s class on the street. Amazed merc even offered these options on such a dignified, discreet flagship model.
