TAF showing Corks strongest wind at a TEMPO (prob 40%) from 8am-2pm at 260degrees 30kts gusting 50kts. In that wind Stobarts can't land and I'd doubt much will. (It's the direction that counts here)
    .

Stobarts can land on 25..wind almost straight down the runway..t'will be grand!

    25 is closed. They can't.
Probably why all morning stobart operations from/to Cork are cancelled

To nice? You'll be fine :) Takeoff is not affected nearly as much as landings by winds.

Actually some aircraft and operators, e.g. 737 have lower crosswind limits for takeoff than for landing. Kinda sucks when you manage to pull off the landing and get the turnaround done but then end up sitting waiting for the wind to drop so you can take off!

    AF1716 go around

I'm at the airport now and that did the go around over our heads as we were driving up the m1, class to see them so close.

My flight (Emirates ) is delayed at least 1 hour, plane sitting on the tarmac until 2.00 though other flights are boarding so not sure why we delayed due to weather and the other, smaller planes are not.

The earlier diverted EI-DVN (As EI711 from LHR-ORK) appears to be positioning to Dublin or London Heathrow.

At nearly 31,000 ft and over 650mph over Kildare it is hardly Dublin

At my time of typing (posting was delayed by slow internet) it was on the climb out of SNN.

Unusual (but not the first time I seen it) flight path for LHR, usually goes down towards southern Wales.

    Liverpool?

Although now heading Westerly, back to have another go perhaps?

We are delayed due to baggage handlers not able (wanting ) to load the bags in the wind!

Seems a bit much to be honest.

Not looking too good in Manchester. TK1993 is going around

Edit: MON655R and MON683R are gone around and seem to be diverting.

    STk324M has gone around too!

What was the wind at the time? Do you work in the industry?

The wind was around 39kts gusting 55kts at the worst, around that time.

I can't remember who handles EK but they may have a limit on what wind they can accept when loading unloading an aircraft it could also be down to EKs limit. It wouldn't be vey nice out on the ramp in that wind, probably the understatement of the year!!!

What's going on here then? Belfast-Manchester, but returning to Belfast?

    https://www.flightradar24.com/BEE4RB/81da131

EDIT: It looks like an FR24 glitch. It had been approaching Belfast again, descended to at least 850 feet and is now already over 30,000 feet?

Being perfectly honest I have no clue what happened there.
