:D I love the way a road up grade has been carried out on the N569 from the Clonkeen junction of the N22, the main Kilarney to Cork Road, right into Kilgarvan which is the home of the Healy Reas. There is nothing there but a few run down houses, two shops and their pub. Now I wonder how that improvement ever got started?

    Headphones have snapped again.

I bought Beats like 18 months ago, they snapped in September and Apple replaced them. The replacements just snapped again this morning. What am I entitled to here?

You're entitled to get better taste in headphones.

Didn't I read that Apple have just discontinued Beats?

They discontinued the beats music streaming service.

Honestly I wouldn't buy them again, but they are too expensive just to forget about!

Mandatory EU two year warranty on electronics should cover you for another free pair. Provided you can prove your used them reasonably etc etc. Bring them to the Apple Store and I guess you'll find out.

If not have you tried BOSE? I use UEs myself, but bought the OH BOSE headphones and borrowed them for a flight. Amazing, truly amazing.

Why do I have an image in my head of awec sitting on the Luas "testing" out how durable the headphones are?

I looked at Bose, the noise cancelling ones look sweet but not sure if they justify the extra cost.

It was the QC 25s that I got her. They're expensive but pretty sweet, and I think it is almost impossible to find them cheaper than 300e.

Yeah you'd wanna quite like music for it to be worth it. My UEs were 100e and they're two years old. I used to use them 5 hours a day or so, but I got BOSE earphones for commuting and work.

Basically I apply the same logic to headphones as smartphones. I use it hours a day, it lasts for years it's worth it.

All headphones have to pass the spanish student test and the work place. If you're upstairs on the 46a with 22 spanish students you should be able to completely block them out without having the music uncomfortably loud. If you're in the office and people around you are in conference calls you should be able to almost block them out without their being any spillage.

    What UEs did you have?

Logitech UE 6000, from back when it was Logitech branded. I think I saw them on BA actually. The reviews were good, they have grand noise cancelling. They aren't any cheaper now then when I got them Christmas 2013. They're less subtle and a good deal heavier than the BOSE ones, but they're pretty durable. I gave up on the case that comes with them a long time ago and just fling them into hand luggage or whatever.

Go through batteries at a reasonable rate.
