Why would I say so if it wasn't true? Even though I'm sure you try and remember all my posts, you seem to have had a brain burp with this one. I bought the 2015 BMW 5-Series myself. I'll be buying the 2016 BMW 5-Series in Jatoba Metallic.

Let me know when your selling the 2015 5 series.....I'll get a year old car for half the price :p:D

And the first kernel hasn't even popped yet.:(
I'm still sceptical that it's not a company car. He didn't mention ownership that until after the company car 520D slagging started.

I wear light tint shades in winter, because the grey winter light is particularly glare-y for sensitive eyes, especially in Ireland or the UK.

Not everyone who wears them (or drives a BMW) is a poseur.

Tons of confirmation bias at play, I'd guess.

I thought that Audi had taken the crown as the dickheads's car of choice.

Aongus Von B drives one and he's my hero so BMW drivers are cool in my book.

When I first changed to a BMW I really noticed more d1ckhead behaviour around. People in ****ty cars who suddenly starting to try and pass me out, cut me off, etc. I think there is a lot of jealousy of people in good cars. Other drivers think They need to put you back in your place

You will never find a BMW in the drive lane on a motorway (left-hand hand).
Up themselves and up your tail.

You'll get pricks in any car.

True, but the proportion of pricks in BMWs is higher than for other cars.

Im a 45 year old male who drives a Yaris. It does the speed limit with ease, its comfy, runs on neglect and is cheap. I have zero interest in cars other than as a means to get from A to B

Most ridiculous comment in the entire thread

This could be more to do with the overall standard of driving in Ireland. Which is appalling. The use of indicators on a roundabout is in danger of disappearing. The use of indicators turning corners seems to be an archaic concept to some of the knuckleheads behind the wheel of a car or van in Ireland. Overtaking on the inside lane of the motorway. Using the outside lane of the motorway for purposes other than those intended. Unbelievable examples of inconsiderate and poor driving. It doesn’t seem to confined to the drivers of any particular marque. If I was to catch judgement on any driver, it would be those driving underpowered tin cans like the Nissan Qashqai or the Kia “Sportage”.

I always rent a car when I fly back to Ireland. It’s always a BMW. It mightn’t have the same standard of spec as the 5-Series I own here in Germany, but it’s still a premium piece of precision German engineering. My choice of car certainly doesn’t change my driving behaviour. In fact, I’ve been subjected to some comments for having the temerity to drive a BMW. I pulled into a filling station in my home town last summer and filled the car. Went in to the station to pay only to meet a chap I went to school with working behind the counter.

“Jesus, look at the fancy Dan arriving in here in the rental Beamer. Home to buy up half the town are we?”

I kept quiet, content in the knowledge that I can afford to buy a new 5-Series with a host of extra features and performance enhancements each year, as well as being able to rent a premium marque when I do come home. Meanwhile he drives a 2001 Toyota Avensis. I let him have his little comment.

    We're just not worthy.

Enjoy it whilst you can folks. Won't be long before insurance companies insist on speed limiters on cars for all and it won't make a fiddlers difference if you drive a corolla or a top of the line BMW. The nanny state will control you in the end.

Nah Audi's have definitely taken over that title.

I like the Yaris. It's a basic, solid, honest-to-Cheeses city runabout that doth profess to be none more than what it is.

With a major design flaw for the first few years that meant you couldn't actually do your driving test in one because the speedo is aimed at the driver so an instructor/tester couldn't actually see it.

That's terrible. However, I seem to be having difficulty mustering even a fraction of a shíte which I could then theoretically give. :D

People react differently depending on what you drive I find. In my MX5 I'm cut-up/tailgated far more often than in a saloon/jeep.

I can relate to this, I bought a silver A6 (an old one) and immediately I noticed people throwing shapes and not letting me pull out etc.
I'd never experienced anything like that driving any other car.

    +1

I had this experience as well. I used to drive a golf and borrowed one of my mates cars for a week when he was away. A 3 series coupe. Really nice car.

Could be sitting at the same T junction for 5 minutes waiting to be let out in the BMW though. Noticed more people closing gaps in traffic to not let me change lanes and general being a d1ck. Not nearly as much when I went back to the golf.
