BMW Drivers

I used to think it was just my imagination that so many times I've been tailgated or had to put up with ignorant driving on the road, the car involved was a BMW.

But someone in work yesterday was talking about a rude wagon who swerved in front of her and then gave her the two fingers when she blew the horn at them, and another person said 'I bet they were in a BMW'. It turned out they were .

Anyone else noticed that BMWs seem to attract a certain type of driver?

I wear light tint shades in winter, because the grey winter light is particularly glare-y for sensitive eyes, especially in Ireland or the UK.

Not everyone who wears them (or drives a BMW) is a poseur.

When I first changed to a BMW I really noticed more d1ckhead behaviour around. People in ****ty cars who suddenly starting to try and pass me out, cut me off, etc. I think there is a lot of jealousy of people in good cars. Other drivers think They need to put you back in your place

“Jesus, look at the fancy Dan arriving in here in the rental Beamer. Home to buy up half the town are we?”

I kept quiet, content in the knowledge that I can afford to buy a new 5-Series with a host of extra features and performance enhancements each year, as well as being able to rent a premium marque when I do come home. Meanwhile he drives a 2001 Toyota Avensis. I let him have his little comment.

Enjoy it whilst you can folks. Won't be long before insurance companies insist on speed limiters on cars for all and it won't make a fiddlers difference if you drive a corolla or a top of the line BMW. The nanny state will control you in the end.

I like the Yaris. It's a basic, solid, honest-to-Cheeses city runabout that doth profess to be none more than what it is.

With a major design flaw for the first few years that meant you couldn't actually do your driving test in one because the speedo is aimed at the driver so an instructor/tester couldn't actually see it.

That's terrible. However, I seem to be having difficulty mustering even a fraction of a shíte which I could then theoretically give.

I can relate to this, I bought a silver A6 (an old one) and immediately I noticed people throwing shapes and not letting me pull out etc.

I had this experience as well. I used to drive a golf and borrowed one of my mates cars for a week when he was away. A 3 series coupe. Really nice car.

Could be sitting at the same T junction for 5 minutes waiting to be let out in the BMW though. Noticed more people closing gaps in traffic to not let me change lanes and general being a d1ck. Not nearly as much when I went back to the golf.
