Two pages in and nobody has posted the joke??

What's the difference between a BMW and a hedgehog?
A hedgehog has the pricks on the outside

How does this apply to women?

It doesn't, I've only witnessed aggressive male BMW drivers to be honest.

I was only thinking today and how well behaved BMW drivers were in recent years. Audi seem to have inherited all the ****e drivers recently.

Mmm. That'll be the young Hoorsprung Ditch Feltspek generation. :pac:

Bad driving takes on many forms...
Yes but generally it's the form of one of these vehicles.

People who drive Nissan Micras and the Toyota Yaris are always the worst road users.

I don't think they're the worst road users, they just tend to be old! They drive slowly and take no chances whatsoever. This can be annoying if you're in a rush and stuck behind them but is not their fault/problem.

What is it about these cars that appeals to old people?

I had a BMW F10 for 3 years and any time I was tailgated it was always by a Nissan quasqai. I drive an Audi A6 now and it doesn't happen as much.

They're small, inexpensive, reliable, easy to drive, easy to park etc.

Jealous pheasants are way worse. Just flocking around yer nest, clucking and what not. F*ckin' bastards. Leave my nest alone!

This could be more to do with the overall standard of driving in Ireland. Which is appalling. The use of indicators on a roundabout is in danger of disappearing. The use of indicators turning corners seems to be an archaic concept to some of the knuckleheads behind the wheel of a car or van in Ireland. Overtaking on the inside lane of the motorway. Using the outside lane of the motorway for purposes other than those intended. Unbelievable examples of inconsiderate and poor driving. It doesn’t seem to confined to the drivers of any particular marque. If I was to catch judgement on any driver, it would be those driving underpowered tin cans like the Nissan Qashqai or the Kia “Sportage”.

I always rent a car when I fly back to Ireland. It’s always a BMW. It mightn’t have the same standard of spec as the 5-Series I own here in Germany, but it’s still a premium piece of precision German engineering. My choice of car certainly doesn’t change my driving behaviour. In fact, I’ve been subjected to some comments for having the temerity to drive a BMW. I pulled into a filling station in my home town last summer and filled the car. Went in to the station to pay only to meet a chap I went to school with working behind the counter.

“Jesus, look at the fancy Dan arriving in here in the rental Beamer. Home to buy up half the town are we?”

I kept quiet, content in the knowledge that I can afford to buy a new 5-Series with a host of extra features and performance enhancements each year, as well as being able to rent a premium marque when I do come home. Meanwhile he drives a 2001 Toyota Avensis. I let him have his little comment.

No, it's something more than that. The micra to old people is like cat nip to cats.

Why would I say so if it wasn't true? Even though I'm sure you try and remember all my posts, you seem to have had a brain burp with this one. I bought the 2015 BMW 5-Series myself. I'll be buying the 2016 BMW 5-Series in Jatoba Metallic.

In any high end car you will get tailgaters and people who seem to think that indicators are optional. Its the whole look what have have I'm better than you Irish attitude and the fact we cant bloody drive in this country!

But its very easy to deal with z people. When one is being tail gated apply hard but quick taps on the brake pedal which in turn forces the driver to pull back and wipe the ****e off his seat!

When entering a roundabout and you see a driver swooping round with no indicator just keep going, sure how are you to know he was going to turn :)

Or you could buy a 6 or 7 series and step away from all the other diesel 5 series owners....
