St. Mary's claimed their first Sligo Senior Championship in 14 years yesterday, beating Curry by 5 points: 1-20 to 2-11. It seems all the hard work done at underage is beginning to show, with the Sligo town team having also won 5 in a row of Minor A titles earlier this year.
Drumcliffe/Rosses Point scored a dramatic injury time free to force a replay in the Senior Relegation final against St. Molaise Gaels, having come from 5 points down. Final score 0-11 each.

Navan O'Mahony's retained the Meath Senior Football Championship with a 13 points to 1-8 win over Na Fianna. O'Mahony's were quite comfortable throughout with a Na Fianna goal in injury time putting a gloss on the scoreboard. Stephen Bray showed what the Meath team will miss next season with a MOTM performance.

Do they ever broadcast the Dublin club championship final?I can't recall TG4 broadcasting any previously, open to correction. The St. Vincent's Ballyboden St.Enda's contest is one I'd really like to have seen broadcast.

Some county boards are not willing to allow TG4 broadcast county finals as they feel it can impact the crowd significantly. Wouldn't be surprised if Dublin County Board had this attitude. Other county boards feel that they should co-operate with TG4 in terms of promoting the game more widely. Like yourself I can't recall any Dublin county final being broadcast. Once it goes to the provincial levels it becomes a lot easier for TG4 to get games as the provincial councils aren't that defensive.

Just after seeing that Upperchurch-Drombane (Tipperary) are beating St.Marys of Kerry 1-8 to 5 points at half time. St.Marys were 1/7 to win this game and Kerry clubs have been winning this competition most years, very surprising

Oulart leading Clogh Ballacolla by 3-07 to 0-12 with 10 minutes left.

Clogh have only themselves to blame, some terrible defensive errors for two of the goals.

Full Time: Oulart 3-08 Clogh Ballacolla 0-13

Clogh will be very disappointed, they left that behind them. Some appalling wides near the end.

Outlart will be away to Clonkill of Westmeath in the Leinster Semi final after they hammered Carlow champions St. Mullins.

Cuala dealt with Jude's fairly easily in the Dublin hurling championship final. They kept Danny Sutcliffe under wraps. With the pool of talent they have they could go on a good run in the club championships. Dublin clubs haven't gone too far in the past but half their panel are inter-county players so I would expect a better run from this team.

Outside of Galway and Mayo county finals, are any other county's broadcast on TG4?

To be honest, I think its to do with the proximity to TG4 HQ in Connemara. Not such a big trip for their outside broadcast units, as opposed to going to the rest of the country.

I don't recall Galway hurling club games on TG4 either but stand to be corrected.

The Limerick one was on deferred this year. The Tipp one was on too. There would be a good few, shur they have matches on all the time, some are bound to be county finals.

Have Cuala got 15 players on Dublin panels? Is that snr or a mixture?

The Meath SFC final of two years ago was broadcast on TG4. I think they realised the error in that decision as it was an awful game.

The Galway hurling final is quite often on TG4, since its usually the last county final played in the year it has no competition for the slot.

Late Legion point 4 minutes into injury time, big punch out at the end over the ref playing 2 mins extra time on top of injury time

Bit of a shock in Leinster with Killaloe beating Navan

They were favourites with the bookies and gave Navan a good thumping 3 years ago when they last met at the same stage, I wouldn't have called that a shock at all. They will give Portlaoise a good challenge, wasn't too much between them last time around.

Really enjoying this Cuala v Clara game.

A lot of frees but great skills in these conditions.

Yes it was a great game. Mentioned here before but Cuala have a serious squad. Felt Clara were poor enough, Lester Ryan went missing again.

Where do the Gaa find these referees. Clearly out of his depth -He certainly kept Clara in it in the second half

Ridiculous reffing performance. How can a ref miss a player tripping over his own feet, when it happens right in front of him, is beyond me.

    Anyway, fair play to Cuala.

Very easy thing to miss, its impossible to see that in real time when they are in such close proximity. He was 50 yards away, but he did the right thing in consulting his umpire who got it wrong.

He was terrible though, don't think he massively favoured one team though, some questionable decisions v Clara early in the game too. Did try to compensate for the red card by giving Clara the run of it after. Don't think we saw the all ireland club winners today, probably Leinster though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Deserved win for Cuala. Think Clara didn't give them the respect they deserved and paid the price. Bar Hogan and Bolger (second half), Clara forwards were poor. Lester didn't look like an inter county player.
Bar the first, wouldn't blame the keeper for the goals. Second was a rebound from his save. Third was down to the full back who shouldn't have let Schutte near the ball.
Thought ref was fussy but didn't favour either side. Gave some soft yellows for very little including both of O'Sheas.

How have Stacks ended up so badly off after last year?

The way the relegation was done this year, only the two teams that made the Senior Club Championship were safe, they are trying to reduce the amount clubs that play Senior.

Stacks lost in the semi finals of that to Dingle

Then they lost in the first round of the relegation play offs to Miltown/Castlemaine a few weeks ago which was a shock

Stacks won today beating St Micheal's Foilmore 0-15 to 1-2

Laune Rangers beat Ardfert 1-9 to 0-8

So Ardfert and St Micheal's are relegated

Stacks and Laune Rangers now play off, winners stay up,losers go down

Interesting about the Super 11 game.
There is a high profile college football game on there tonight, Boston College v Notre Dame.
First football game in Fenway in decades.

So they must be utilizing the fact that there have a 120 yard football field setup already and playing the Super 11 game the next afternoon.

What,s the thinking on the nap v ballygunner game tomorrow?nap favourites and a seasoned team at this stage but Bally not to be taken lightly.whoever wins this will be in a strong place who do the Munster champs play in the semi?

I thought this would have been the live game on tg4 but of course that's my hurling bias coming out all the same to me as I,ll be going either way.
