I posted that during the summer, still hasn't sold. Seen it last week actually, and yet again, it didn't fail to give me the shivers. Horrid looking thing.

So the cars gone into limp mode again jasus I can't wait to get it sorted I'm saying that the 530d still has more power in limp mode than the Passat I had for about two months.

Winter has also kicked into full swing n7 was full of cars doing 80 in the overtaking lane normal rules don't apply in the winter.

So I think visually this is where my car is headed, but probably with Silver & Polished M Pars instead of black, alternatively, style 95's.

Grills on the way, will be getting US sidelights coded in too, sorting out the rack this week and the bike!

I like the look of that :)

Thought about blacking put the e60 completely but don't I will on the wheels.

Been keeping an eye out for style 95 myself since the pic you put up but there fairly rare it seems.

Well, it looks like it finally happened. I got blasted in the ass by Mr Van. First name: Speed.

I know they operate under a radar based system (or at least so I'm lead to believe). I think I was doing about 100km/h in an 80km/h, give or take. Can't recall exactly (was on a national road, possibly N7, and it was as I was coming out the other side of a village, and the speed limits start staggering back up, from 50-60-80-100 and away you go, until the next village, when they stagger down again). (So pretty much, I was building my speed up to be ready to be at 100. I wasn't quite at 100 when I seen the van, but I wouldn't have been far off).

Seen the van and stared at it for a second, I was convinced it was a builders van or such. Eventually took the precaution and dropped the anchors. Sailed by them at about 50 I'd say.

Thing is, he wasn't very well hidden, and was on a fairly dead stretch of road (both of those reasons are why I doubted it was a speed van at all). I'd say I seen him at about 200 meters or so, and was within the speed limit for the 100 meters or so up to the van, but could be wrong.

Just wondering if anyone knows their range? I'd say I was definitely caught. I'm sure the machine in the van is more observant than me, but at the same time, I've had a previous situation where I ploughed past a speed van at 105 in a 100, and nothing ever came of it (and I genuinely didn't see him until I was on top of him). I'm just hoping I'll get lucky again! :o

Worst part is that there was about 5 cars on the road before I came to the van, and not one gave a heads up. :( (Needless to say, I flashed everyone in a 40km radius afterwards :P )

Good streuth.....What's the shorter version? :D

I'd say you were caught, 100 in an 80 zone and they have a long range afaik.

its your choice ultimately but I think your car looks just fine the way it is. that looks too black and almost dulls everything about the car

your car looks far better imo

I don't think I'll go all black, it was just an idea, at the moment I prefer Silver + Polished M Pars.

Is it just me or does the NCT disc on this car look a bit dodgy?

Ya, I'm with Mr pants on this one, foxhole. Personal taste and all that, but all black doesn't appeal to me, even on new cars, like audi for example, some people choose to have everything black. I even seen the audi rings in black! I like my bit of chrome, breaks things up.

It doesn't look right, but would a dealer really take the chance?

Could be a printer issue. I'm sure a dealer wouldn't be doing that kind of trickery.

Did a bit more reviewing last night and I think the Passat 170 will be the replacement.
Found a savage one with leather, heated seats, sat nav, xenons and parking sensors for a very good price. Honda hopefully should be gone by the end of the week and then it's a simple drive up and done and dusted.

.... what could possibly go wrong?

I went from a VW Passat to an Alfa for reliability. Let me know how the reverse trip goes :p

Naw, dark blue on the Groody Raceway. Thing was seriously canted over, surely more than one tyre flat.

Don't worry I think I got unlucky with mine. It was an 06 1.9TDI.

I'm going for the 2.0 170 version, known issues are the head cracking and I believe the DPF but I'm planning on getting the DPF removed at some point.
There is also a 159 2.4 Q4 Ti within budget but the missus has, let's say declined politely to entertain the idea :(
