Just watched the Finn balor unfiltered episode. Jesus that ladder match knocked lumps out of him. It's clear that him and becky are just genuinely good people which is nice to see.

Latest Table for 3 is fantastic, Truth is so likeable, no wonder he's been employed for a billion years.

Axel is thick as a plank.

    Miz is his loquacious self.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying the Table for 3 series. Wasn't sure what to make of it when it was announced, but it's been very good.

Ya exactly. Heyman on Austin's podcast was making jokes about it and doing his Jew impression. Brock's one of his best friends. I'm glad Brock's not PC, it fits well with his character, and you never see actual Jewish people being offended, just people being offended on their behalf, which is cringe-worthy.

Jewish jokes are just grand then? Seriously like??? Have I just stepped back in time and skipped past the 20th century or something. Dafuq

This is one of the single-most idiotic things I've ever read on here. If you make a comment "The Jew" and start linking to clichés about money, it has pejorative connotations. It's nothing about being PC or not, it's an incredibly stupid comment couched in underlying discriminatory values that society has to try to move away from.

If you changed it from a jewish person to another race/religion it wouldn't fly, surprised it hasn't been picked up on more.

It's hardly ok to say, oh Brock LOL he's not PC.

    He didn't say that tbf.

He was talking about two specific people that have a close relationship.

    Hardly Bernard Manning territory.

They are good friends in real life. Watch Paul Heyman on the local news in NYC before Summerslam. Watch him on Rosenbergs show, Sam Roberts show etc. He refers to himself as the Jew or Brock's Jew etc. It's clearly a term he not only uses for himself in private between the two of them but has also used it publicly. It's a non-factor...

The bullying thing perked my ears up a bit more. I could image the producers were not too happy about that.

Mostly older classic country stuff, though..by the sounds of things. Not Garth Brook or Toby Keith kind of crap. Also, he likes ACDC, Metallica etc.

I understand we live in a culture where people are just DYING to be self righteous and get offended, but personally I'm glad Brock didn't take any heat. Heyman refers to himself as 'The Jew' and makes various gags around that, which I'm sure Brock shares in. It was totally innocuous and I can't understand why someone would choose to be offended.

Was watching one of my favourite ppv's again, In Your House, Canadian Stampede

I had forgotton Vinny Mac's intro, Weeeellcome everyone to In Your House lol.

What an atmosphere and great matches to match, I'd love to know how Austin felt walking out to that reaction, it must've been great.

Thank God America's auto-offended-and-loudly-complain predisposition hasn't taken over the well-adjusted parts of the world :) Brock made a joke about one of his best friends, with something Paul would say himself. White knighting/"I'm offended on behalf of other people" is cringe-worthy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Palo Alto

I'm not offended on behalf of anyone else, nor myself especially, I just thought it was a stupid thing to say, coming from a person who isn't exactly a bright spark, and in-keeping with his sociopathic character.

Not caring about people isn't exactly something to be admired. No man is an island, no matter how much they would like to be.

An argument that jokes about Jewish people are fine because "ah sure they can take a joke so it's grand" is anti-semitic.

Raising an objection to anti-semitic comments pre-date Internet lingo by several decades and a world war.

Context is as important as the words used. I haven't seen the podcast itself so can't comment.

I'm more interested in what he said about being a bully? Did he actually admit that he was/is one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Palo Alto

Yes, Austin made the mistake in thinking Brock was saying that he was bullied, he then corrected him and had a chuckle about it.

Just watched the last few Table For 3. These shows are great, seeing these guys just being themselves. Sting seems like a genuinely decent guy as well as The Miz, who I thought was gonna bore the pants off me. Loved the story he told about his Dad.

The only one I didn't like was the divas one. Alundra Blaze really annoyed me, she just seemed so fake and wanted it all about her.

On a side note, I am really looking forward to Breaking Ground. If it's anything like the NXT 24 episode, it will be a great series.

So are you actually personally offended, or are you offended on behalf of Jewish people?

He didn't say anything offensive. He was asked about Heyman and them working together. He said while having a chuckle, I've got to feed my Jew right?...there was no mention of the holocaust, there no Jewish stereotype. It was just about bringing in Paul Heyman to work with him. It wasn't anti-semitic at all.. as the comment below says, context...

He mentioned that he was a bully. Austin jumped on it and asked if he was every a bully and he clarified that no, he was the one bullying kids on the playground. Possibly worse than that was Austins reaction of laughing and saying Yeah as though he was endorsing or agreeing with the notion of being the bully BUT if I was to guess that was just him being uncomfortable. They got off of the topic pretty quick.

In fairness, there's bullies and him being a bully in school doesn't mean he hasn't changed. Though, if you listen to the Podcast. He has an anti-social personality. Not to the extreme but you could see how he might be a bully

    No Jewish stereotype?

You have to be kidding me. Not sure why you're mentioning the holocaust though.

Do you get that the term Jew is not offensive?

With that, can you tell me what Jewish stereotype he touched on?

Money, my friend, money. Greed. They have been stereotyped as such for thousands of years.

But if anything his comment wasn't about getting him a lot of money. It was laughing about keeping him fed. It's also dumb because Paul Heyman is a self made man. He doesn't need a job and everybody knows that. He's got his Heyman Hustle. He writes a newspaper column and run his own Marketing company in New York City.

Brock said it laughing. They are best friends. He also followed through with explaining that he wouldn't be where he is without Paul Heyman, which Austin also said for himself. In the context, it's not anti-semitic at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,469 ✭✭✭LeeJM

Simple answer to this is why doesnt somebody tweet Heyman and just ask him how offended he or any of his family were by being referred to as "the Jew" by Brock?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Palo Alto

Again that's missing the point. How about tweeting Jewish representative body in the States and see if they get a bee in their bonnet?

Why? It's not anti-semitic. He didn't direct it at all Jewish people. He didn't even use a stereotype (which you claim) and he didn't use a slur. It was a joke about his best friend. His best friend that constantly refers to himself as his Jew...

If you're posting here and you watched the Podcast or listened to it. You're a fan. You know this. I'm sure you've seen Paul Heyman interviews too to know this.

For what it's worth Paul Heyman called Brock the "The Aryan Youth" before. Paul once claimed that he is the only "dirty Jew" that Brock likes. It's a running joke between both of them.

Brock is anti-social. He doesn't appear to hate anybody for their religion, race etc. He has said he's a private person and doesn't like people. That doesn't make him racist

Just watching Austin v McMahon on rivalries, very good shows, but like the show about the kliq, having current talent talking like they were there is slightly annoying me, they shouldv'e had more people who were there at the time

Any chance of putting the Jewish stuff in another thread?

Finn came a cross well in the Renee interview like always.

Stuff like this dosent usually annoy me but when Finn said we call soda a fizzy drink, she says something like "would you like a fizzy drink" in like a cockney English accent.

    Feck off :P
