Watched the first hell in a cell between hbk and taker and this might be controversial to those who think the one at KOTR 98 match was an amazing match but the first one is a far better match overall.

It's hard to make a case that the 98Kotr Cell match was actually good per se, it was an amazing and disturbing spectacle but as a match I dunno... depends what style you like I guess. I usually prefer a back and forth.

Haven't watched HBK v Taker Cell match in years but I always held it as my favourite. Might give it aneewatch now that the Raw episodes are up. I do recall Shawn getting in a lot of offence before they leave the Cell and that section of the match being a bit slow.

On KOTR 98 i mean it will always have a place in wwe history as having one of the most visually spectacular moments ever. I think they went overboard with what Mick did.

I only watched the 1997 one last night for maybe the first time since it happened or at least in full. It's a very good match and they told a good story and by the time Kane arrived you believed that him arriving was the only thing that could save hbk.

The first Hell In A Cell match is great, and in terms of what happens technically bell to bell in the match of course it's far superior to the one from 1998. But the moments make the matches in wrestling. I think sometimes lack of workrate can be gotten past easily due to significance. But WrestleMania XXV and XXVI was better than Badd Blood 1997, in my opinion.

How often do they update Nitros? I see they're into Feb now, hoping for March (30th has the famous 1,004 holds promo!)

Been a few weeks since Nitros have been added. Hardcore TV and 2002 Raw and SD have taken over as their focus

Thanks for the link! Ach, it might be a while so. Dang. 98 is the ultra hot year. Really excellent service for old school fans!

That reddit Network bot is worth following since WWE don't bother informing people of what they have added.

I've been working away at 1988 for the last good few months. Some amazing Savage promos.

I will find it interesting to see how much progress Josh and Sara have made since winning Tough Enough on new Breaking Ground show on Network.

I knew it would be a great week to start watching some old school WCW such as Clash of the Champions on the Network.

The wcw table for 3 was on the live channel and is now on demand.

Is everyone watching NXT in an hour? For once I don't think I have the energy to stay awake.

They should do a Table for 3 episode with Sheiky, Steiner and Moppy.

Type The Iron Sheik, Honky Tonk Man, New Jack into You Tube for the original Table For 3 man.

I watched an RF "shoot" with New Jack and Balls Mahoney recently. Such carny cringeworthy stuff. There was a hired cop to frisk them for weapons as they had heat from when New Jack attacked Balls with a machete. It was on youtube, might still be up.

I know this isn't news but Table For 3 is great. 22m of 3 wrestlers chatting over dinner shooting the breeze. Ryback exposing himself as super serious and legimiately calling Daniel Bryan a bully is so hilarious. Died listening to Bryan and Ziggler keeping him going. The ryback cannot take a joke, its amazing

I agree with the above, its a nice relaxed show, a great way to spend your time if your idle.

But its probably the least favorite To3 so far. New day To3 was so entertaining Jay,check it out.

New WCW theme Table for Three is great when DDP isn't speaking. Wish Booker T was on this instead.

The Bryan-Ryback-Ziggler one was the best. The guys ribbing about that heap of dirt Elimation Chamber match was sensational.

New day was my favourite table for 3

I think Steiner doing Table for 3 with pretty much anyone would be gold. Hell, they should convince Petey Williams to come on for it!

Well lads iv'e had to give in, finally getting the network for the Austin podcast on monday and HIAC, just wondering when i subscribe, do i get it straight away?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 465 ✭✭billion dollar baby

Access is instantaneous in most cases. If you are getting it via your PS or Xbox then you will have to download the app which takes about 5 minutes or so but other than that you're all set

Should get it straight away yeah, much like most online streaming subscriptions.

Have a look through the thread for recommendations if it's your first time. Eg. Previous Austin podcasts are on there, the Vince one is totally cringe but must-watch car crash viewing.

As per a previous post on this thread was watching some old Vader matches. Like a lot of things he wasn't as cool as I remembered from childhood but the main point of this was that I was watching Bash At The Beach '95, Vader v Hogan steel cage match. The cage was tiny! Steel fence match would be more accurate. Not a good match either.

Just watched the JBL/ Eric Bishoff interview. Again the WWE make a big deal of the "D-X" Invasion of WCW.

Jesus it was one comedy segment on a Raw where D-X went near the venue WCW was holding a show. That was it. Yet the WWE keep making a big deal of it.

JBL kept saying why didn't counter the "DX" invasion. Eric didn't seem to know what to say. Also funny at the end where JBL ask would you like to try and do it again? and Eric says yes. You already tried again Eric with TNA and look how well that went.

It was a seminal moment. If you lived it, you knew it was emblematic of a shift in the war. Feeling radiated off the screen watching it. WWF was now the hot, cool product. They were attacking and WCW was backpedaling. And it was a number of segments, not one.

For the record, I am as sick of being hammered over the head about the attitude era as anyone and I'm bored to tears by much of the WWF's false narrative about the whole thing. But I have to say that this was the third moment that year - after Austin/Tyson in January, and the Vince V Austin bait & switch in April - where you could really feel the WWF's momentum.

All that said, I wish they had opened the doors and had guys like Meng and Scott Norton back DX up, filmed it themselves.
