PS3/PS4 app has been awful lately so I guess we have to wait for a new update for it.

There was an update last week for PS4, did that make any difference?

2003 smackdown episodes are up on the network and it looks like it's the whole year. Alot of 2002 raw is up there.

The kayfabe of Breaking Ground is starting to really irritate me. Mojo essentially being in character for the whole episode was ludicrous. It's meant to be a behind the scenes look at a show that's already watched by smarks, having it so false makes it redundant.

I thought zack Ryder came across well in the episode. ZZ comes across as a joke and clearly not in shape. Jordan and gable came across as likeable and liked that they brought up their amateur backgrounds.

Mojo comes across as a dick and maybe Corbain in the earlier episodes wasn't the one being a dick to mojo.

Yeah but it's all kayfabe, that's what's annoying me. None of them are breaking character so what's the point?

I expected Breaking Ground to be something like WWE 24, but instead we got NXT version of Total Divas.

They've uploaded 4 of these from 85/86 tonight. I wonder is there episodes featuring the Four Horsemen?

I think I'll dip back into 1988 this afternoon. I've been enjoying the evil ways of Ted DiBiase.

Shed load more of the nwa world championship wrestling up on the network. Love it. love it. love it.
edit: 32 episodes if my maths is right.

The ads for breaking ground and the on demand library before everything are starting to annoy me a lot. Anyone else finding this ?

Ads for the WWE Network while watching the WWE Network annoy me the most

These ads also annoy me but of greater annoyance to me is the silly little interlude where you get that awful ear piercing jingle and the age limit rating and the warning etc. It is completely unnecessary. Netflix doesn't have this rubbish. Netflix has a separate 'Kids' section without the adult content.

I don't see the problem with it. A lot of children probably do use the WWE Network I'd say. Had a great laugh watching Saturday Night's Main Event from 1988 earlier there with Jessie.

They have added global wrestling federation and a some new nwa and even one stampede wrestling episode. Am I right in thinking that WWE don't own the tapes of the Memphis territory ? I might have misread that but without checking it I've a memory of hearing something like that.

Edit: also mid south wrestling and some AWA is up there. This is the stuff I've been waiting for to see.

i think i heard a lot of the memphis stuff was lost in a fire or something like that.

    i could be completely wrong.

Noone is completely sure who owns the copyright to the Memphis footage. There's tonnes of stuff on YouTube however.

WWE had the opportunity to purchase the Paul Bosch Hueston library but didn't for one reason or another. That footage is now available on NWA Classics. Bruce Tharpe is behind it.

All the territory stuff now being added on the Network is being attributed to the success of NWA Classics. Personally I dont care why its being added Im just glad it is. Im gonna be renewing my sub next Tuesday and cant wait to get started on SMW.

Also I believe Jerry Lawler is still fighting to gain legal ownership of the Memphis tapes so he can sell to WWE.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Was it the Memphis territory that someone's ex wife had retained the copyright on or something like that? I heard that on a podcast somewhere that one of the old tape libraries for one of them wound up just sitting in someone's attic or something to that effect.

I think that was mid south wrestling and the wife wouldn't sell but she eventually did.

Im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the Memphis stuff but I dont think that was Memphis Stereo. The Memphis dispute is between Jerry Lawler and Corey Macklin and who owns the copyright to the Memphis footage. Its a battle thats being going on for years now.

The Paul Bosch Hueston library sat idle for years. There's weird things with the old territory stuff where there's like some kinda dual ownership over certain matches that aired on different shows.

Some of it the NWA Classics launch is covered here -

Was it Global or Mid-South or someone who only has about half the size of a library that they should have because they taped over shows at one stage to save money on video tape? That's another one I heard on a podcast but same as before I can't remember which territory.
