I'm afraid not. McCoy is #8, Foster #10.

    Reggie Bush?

Edit: Perhaps Arian Foster too, although that undrafted contract might have weighed him down.

Edit2: Ah, McFadden, the other older RB who was drafted in the first round.

Tell me its Bush and McFadden, Paully :D

I had added McFadden to my post as another edit. Fairly confident it would be him.

Coaches are saying he was concussed in the pre-game warm up. Either that's just an excuse to make him look less stupid, or it's really frightening that someone could be so badly concussed that they are unsure which direction they're playing in all of a sudden. Which would be a real shame because I initially thought it was the funniest, most Jaguars sh1t I've seen in years.

If the concussion reason is true, then the whole thing stops being funny probably for everybody. It would also makes sense, because concussion can do that to you - confusion and complete disorientation is common and the play now makes sense if he was concussed. His problem was his orientation on the field and the team and direction he was playing. So if he isn't a complete dope and was really concussed during the pregame warm up. Then the team need to ask themselves, why was it not spotted by the coaches or the medical staff before he took the field.

There was a college game where a player got a concussion then went to the wrong huddle, lined up for the wrong team, was even barking orders to the players around him, can't remember which game but from this season.

In other news the 49ers are looking to deal Vernon Davis apparently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,475 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Giants might well look into that.

It was a safety from Wisconsin against Alabama, just googled it there. He looked in a bad way, it's scary stuff.

That's very scary alright and I'd worry about a college player entering the NFL, especially when he's suffered a concussion like that.

Well, yeah and no. As horrible and unfortunate as scenarios like this are, at the same time if we were throwing 18 and 19 year olds into the NFL right out of high school the results could simply be devastating. Also it could lead to high schools getting involved in some pretty nefarious stuff with regards to doping, etc. The real issue here is the college setup... players not getting paid a cent or even allowed profit off their fame (the Johnny Manziel autograph scandal was such a farce I don't even know where to begin, for example) or even having something like a 'guaranteed scholarship' in the event of injury etc (which could prove invaluable in cases like this, but would also require colleges to be a lot more honest about how they treat student athletes and their coursework) is where the real sick joke lies, in my opinion.

i think some sort of professional underage league is called for but to have guys lose out on millions is a joke. as you said the ncaa are crooks and every time something like this happens it should highlight that but it will be blown over in a week unfortunately

To play devil's advocate most of these guys are lucky enough to go to a top school in the first place and get a free ride. Lets face it many of them on academics alone would never get into the colleges they play ball in. Also by choice they can play out their 4 years if they want to and get that education but many see $$$ and realize jumping to the NFL before graduating is the best thing to do.

I don't like how the NCAA and colleges make money out of these guys but lets face it every kid and their parents know the risks of the game and the risk of getting a full ride to play sports.

The one thing to realize if they leave college early they still can comeback and make up that year of eligibility education wise but it will be on their dime though.

It is though. Go pro, get paid, stay in college, possibly get injured then have the scholarship pulled

they are the product in a billion dollar industry theres not free ride there at all if they had the ability to go pro the best players would be able to pay for there college anyway if they wanted it and the non nfl quality players would continue getting scholarships

I know, as you're saying, you're playing Devil's advocate, but working in one of those colleges right now, and seeing just how much resources are generated for the place off the sweat and graft, and risk of these players, you realise the extent to which in some of these places it's only a top college to a large extent because of the footballers. So that it isn't really just the players that are privileged to be there, the college is privileged to have the players, and the income streams they generate, which in the case of the college I'm at are absolutely staggering. Something's not right.
