So we got 4 injury free games out of Jordan Reed which is a miracle in itself but he got a concussion yesterday which is awful for him. He missed the last 4 games of the season a couple of years back the last time he got concussed so it doesn't look good.

He's been great so far this season so it will be a shame if he is out.

This team is night and day from last year. Really growing into something competitive. Kirk was outstanding yesterday.

Reed is a massive concern though alright. We've little to no depth at TE. Carrier has done ok mainly as a blocker though. Huge worry if Reed's out a prolonged time. DeSean Jackson should be back next week or the the one after though which is a massive bonus.

Big test against a really strong Falcons team next. Be very interesting to see how we hold up.

Falcons look great at the moment going to be a tough ask to beat them but I think we have to be optimistic at this stage that we can at least compete!

I was hoping the Falcons would see this as a straightforward win and get all complacent but Shanny Jnr. will be out to prove a point so they'll probably be fairly focused all week.

I really like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. I actually hope the Falcons go well this year would like to see them win it all , but obviously not if the Redskins have a chance.

    this would be great

I don't know. I'probably go alright but I've been to two IS games and I don't like the atmosphere. Having fans of all 32 teams there wearing their own team's gear etc. takes away from what a home/away game should be.

I've been to 5 I think and I feel the same way. I will still definitely go and if it's the Redskins I will try to get a group of skins fans from London/Ireland/Germany together for it.

Not looking good for Sunday. Culliver, Reed, Jackson and Hall all out. Riley questionable.

I don't think you can be too down about that one tbf. Falcons are legit super bowl contenders and we took them to OT. Defense amazing given the fact we're missing our two starting CB's.

Brilliant effort. Just unfortunate to come up that bit short. Team continues to perform past expectations though. We're clearly moving in the right direction.

Yeah, some positives alright but it's just very frustrating when a winnable game is lost, especially on a play when a guy falls over. I thought when they won the OT toss, it was going to be their day so to lose it in the way they did was horrible.

The Falcons weren't great today and were there for the taking. Kirk was a bit off with his throws and both lines were dominated and still they were still in with a shout so that was good. Nice to see the battered secondary step up as well.

Falcons are not Super Bowl contenders playing like that. They were terrible. But you are right , clearly moving in the right direction.

We could win this division if we can get our best team out there, Reed and Jackson need to play but we have a chance.

Yesterday was encouraging considering who was missing but the sooner Jackson gets back the better. I'm not hopeful for Reed though. With his history of concussions, he might be out a while and rightly so.

The next two games are winnable but NY has won 3 in a row now and Philly got a good win yesterday too. Dallas will be better once their get their stars back and even though they gave up 30 yesterday, their defence is scary. So they really do need to win the next 2 and go into the bye 4-3.

100% need to win the next two but the Jets game as tough as it could be is very winnable. The Bucs were excellent yesterday at times. Winston is improving week on week.

Why the hell cant this team turn up for the third quarter? Every week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

I know I they've had a couple of turnovers by grabbing the ball after the the catch but it outside of that, the tackling has been awful.

Right, I'm off to Red Zone. Can't watch any more of this.

    Now that was truly awful.

The way DC is too I'd guess if Kirk doesn't play well next week against Tampa it'll be Colt's time to shine after the bye week.

Redskins have been out scored 46-3 in the third quarters this season. Gruden's half time talks must be riveting!

So riveting that his team is still asleep until the 4th quarter starts .. to be fair the better teams tend to pick it up after the half. WE are not a good team, Kirk throws too many picks. This was my problem with him before he got the job and it's still his problem. He looks always ready to throw one. I don't know if Colt will be any better though but I do think RGIII gets another look ..

Can't see them risking RG3 with the 16 million guarantee for next season if he gets injured. Far too big a risk to take for a guy who has proved enough times that he's not up to it.

Well he proved he was up to it... Then he got injured and hasn't been able to prove anything since.

Not in the current offense he hasn't proved anything.

If Gruden gets sacked mid-season (IF we lose to Tampa it could happen) then I'd give something like a 10% chance we see RG3 this season.

If Gruden is still here I don't see the point in trotting RG3 back out in an offense he's clearly completely lost in. The risk is far too great.

I suppose it depends on if they (as in the top brass) see him as a QB they are going to play .. I don't think Gruden gets sacked but I think pressure to change back to RG III will happen.

I think he is more talented that Kirk and might just get another shot. You are right though he hasn't looked comfortable in this offence. Also I wonder how much those blockers want to play with him. Not much from most of what is being said in the media.

He isn't more talented a pocket passing QB than Kirk though imo. He's so flawed fundamentally its insane. Can't anticipate a pass, too hesitant to throw into tight windows, can't move up in the pocket well, footwork always off etc.

You can mask some of that by running the read option, using his legs like Shanahan did so well in 2012 but thats not something we can just go back to mid-season and I don't think RG3 has the burst of speed needed for it now anyway.

2012 was the outlier for Griffin. Its really time we moved on imo. I'd personally be shocked if he's still in the league in 3 years.

I think it all comes down to the 16 million at the end of the day though anyway. Playing the most injury prone QB in the league when one injury can completely jeopardize next season too is quite the risk to be taking. Don't think McCloughan will be letting his first year in charge end in that type of a monumental mess up.

Kai Forbath's been signed by the Saints. So watch him nail a walk off 50 yarder when they play in week 10!

    The cycle is complete.

Forbath beat out Hocker with the Redskins.

Hocker beat out Hopkins with the Saints.
