Was never find of them myself and it's probably noticeable from the fact I've only tried my hand at one.

Yeah I don't know why but I'm not a fan. So what level would you like to see me play? Probably won't be tonight I'm off to bed now, I was supposed to be up at 4:30 but this recording takes time so that's not going to happen.
P.s wound you all prefer to only see the attempt where I actually finish the level or the full video where I shall fall many many times!

The full video is interesting to see, to see where I can improve the level design. Try out one of the newer ones. Maybe Put on your Red shoes and dance if you havent tried it or Star Star Star.

Yeah I though I'd like to see the full video, the fails are as important as the victory in that sense. Anyway next time I record I'll try get one of those 2 in, and I won't consume so much beer before hand this time;-)

hello, sorry to intrude, I can't find an answer to my question online, I figure people on here will know : is Super Mario Maker going to be released for Xbox 360 at any stage ?
Thanks, I'm just a Mammy trying to suss out Christmas. Buying the WiiU just for that is a massive expense. :o

You're buying the Wii U for that and about 10-15 other fantastic games. Your kids will love you. More.

Yeah like Pac1man said ^, you're not buying the Wii U just for that game. Here are some other games your children (suggesting) would have great fun with:

*Wii Sports Club - you can only get 24 hour passes or passes for certain sports in shops, the disc version is available online in which you don't need any passes
*New Super Luigi U - Like the ol' Mario classic except it is based on Luigi this time. It is like Mario is dead in this game. Again, this a rare game to get and I suggest buying it online.
*Mario Kart 8 - Better than the original Wii and DS version as well as Mario Kart 7. Better courses but same ol' characters and controls.
*New Super Mario Bros U - I'm sure ya know it!
*Super Mario World - the best rated game for the Wii U.

There are more but it gives you an indication of how good it is!

The list of Wii U games is pretty long.......
    • Super Mario 3D World
    • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
    • Rayman Legends
    • Bayonetta 2
    • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
    • Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
    • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
    • Mario Kart 8
    • Shovel Knight
    • Pikmin 3
    • Need for Speed: Most Wanted U
    • Bayonetta
    • Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
    • Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
    • Darksiders II
    • Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition
    • Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
    • Trine 2: Directors Cut
    • Child Of Light
    • Toki Tori 2
    • The Wonderful 101
    • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
    • Splatoon
    • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
    • Hyrule Warriors
    • Tekken Tag Tournament 2
    • Lego City Undercover
    • Nintendo Land
    • Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
    • Splinter Cell: Black List
    • Injustice: Gods Among Us
    • Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
    • Watch Dogs
    • New Super Mario Bros. U
    • Call Of Duty: Ghosts
    • Trine: Enchanted Edition
    • New Super Luigi U
    • Kirby and The Rainbow Paintbrush
    • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
    • Resident Evil: Revelations
    • Scribblenauts Unlimited
    • Stealth Inc. 2

There's plenty more besides, I'm sure I've missed a few. There's a load more eShop games worth buying and there's tonnes of Virtual Console games that deserve downloading. A few of the titles listed aren't suitable for children but the majority of them are fine.

Had my brother playing my levels tonight, it's such fun watching someone fail around in your level.

Thank you all, still undecided, but leaning on side of "nope".
It's so expensive, and he already has a Wii and an Xbox, and a good collection of games.

You could buy one secondhand off Adverts, Donedeal, Gumtree, etc. You can very often find them for < €200, sometimes even < €150 depending on the bundle and what's included. Third party games can be bought new for real cheap and again buy first party games secondhand. I'd stay away from the high street for the most part, they're a rip-off.

You don't need the original Wii. If you get a Wii U, you can throw out that Wii or sell it online. I am saying this because the Wii U plays your original Wii's games TOO! Like I can play Wii Sports on the Wii U!

Thank you both, yes, I looked at adverts but just missed one that sold near me. I'll keep an eye on it though.
Does the memory storage make any difference for Mario Maker ? I see a lot of 8GB going for relatively cheap.

sryanbruen you're right, I should try and sell the Wii. But then that won't be Santa bringing the Wii U because I'll have to explain why we're selling the Wii !:P

"Santa thinks you should give your Wii to the poor kids but you can keep your old games. Then he will bring you a Wii U but only if you make mammy some tea with 2 chocolate Polos."

    Done. :D

I'm not overly creative so I've mostly been playing other people's courses rather than making my own. Have a four day weekend coming up so maybe I'll spend a little more time with it.

I personally love it and the replay ability is endless. I haven't really played anything else since I got it. One of my favourite games ever!

If I order this from Amazon.fr, should I expect the text on the back of the cover to be in French? From the differing covers on the French and German Amazons, I'm guessing there isn't a pan-European cover.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it released in just the 2 versions all across Europe, the artbook plus game and the amiibo bundle version. If you look at the back of the box it has all the European languages and this photo is from a French Ebay listing.

It's no different than what we got. Maybe I'm wrong. Don't take my word for it.

Edit: What am I saying? I am wrong. I just looked at the back of my box and it's all in English. Perhaps that's the rest of Europe version. But then that red warning only has French.

So you're none the wiser. :D Now I'd say that is a French version. I'll look more but it's hard to find photos of the back of the box. It's usually just the front and that's the same regardless of region. There's Italian sellers on Ebay saying their bundles are Italian.

I got my copy from Amazon and it's the same as the one in the photo, with the different languages on it.

It would appear that the amiibo bundle I posted above is the for all of Europe including Ireland and the UK. I have the artbook and game version. That's just in English. Whether there's different European versions of that? Back to the internet I go.

Yep. There's individual versions of it.

So if you're buying the amiibo bundle you're good as there's just one version. But if you're buying just the game and artbook version, it'll be in French.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I'm looking to buy the standard version and then the amiibo separately due to the packaging, which works out at an acceptable price from Amazon.fr today.
