That's useful for people with a good start, but I'm languishing above 1m OR so can't just be happy to take blanks on high ownership players

Still though Martial for Benteke is a low risk/high reward move, its not like missing the Kun Train when it takes off.

Between Kun and Sanchez, they'd try the patience of a Saint. Every week I'm waiting for them to take off and every week players like Payet and Ayew are bringing home the points. :(

Wilson going up tonight and Aguero falling at 0.4%/hour. I've taken a chance and swapped out Kun who I bought at 13.1m for Wilson. If Aguero somehow falls by the end of the GW then grand, otherwise I save at least 0.1m on Wilson and increase my resale value on Aguero to 13.2m

Struggling to see the logic there.
    Assuming you are on WC?

    1. Profit 0.1: Wilson rises 0.2 and Aguero falls 0.1
    2. Break-even: Wilson rises 0.2 and Aguero remains same
    3. Lose 0.1: Wilson rises 0.1 or less and Aguero remains same

I think the odds are stacked against you for making a profit. Breaking even would be a decent result imo, I would think the most likely outcome is that you'll lose 0.1

The price you get for aguero will be the same if he is 13.1 or 13.2, I doubt he will drop this week also

I lose 0.1m if he doesn't drop and I rebuy at 13.2m, but have then increased my resale on him to 13.2m if I need to ship later (assuming no further drops).

I'm >90% keeping Wilson on WC, so for 3) it would be break even if Wilson rises 0.1m and Aguero stays same. The having 13.2m resale on Aguero than 13.1m could back fire if he falls Sat night or later

Probably would have since it's the same logic. Sell for 13.1m and then either have same team value if he drops or buy at 0.1m loss and higher resale

I can't believe I'm actually sitting out this Martial feeding frenzy given my well established team value obsession.

I may as well take this opportunity to formally put on record proof that I don't let that obsession dictate all my early season moves!! :)
    I can't believe it either :D.

Wanyama is still dropping away, I'd have thought he was relatively safe on 4.4.

Just wondering if more people are playing a balanced 5 man midfield and this is contributing to the price drop, any thoughts ?
This is very annoying. I guess it's mainly due to people favouring the 3-5-2 formation. Wanyama can't be a transfer priority right now. And for the ones willing to save the value, I'd assume they'd ditch him while on WC, so that would not count.

The BBC live text seemed to suggest Wanyama had 2-3 goal attempts towards the end of the game at the week-end. If only he had converted one, he'll probably be rising fast!

He had a nice shot going upper corner that DDG did well to save

Martial up to 75% now, probably going to be tight in terms of getting 2 in a row.

For wildcarders like me a little injury to keep him out of the Sunderland game would be so sweet.

Easiest .1 I'll ever make. Even if I only keep him for a week and he does nothing, he'll have been worth it. Down the line that .1 will come in handy.

If you look at it like that it's two transfers down the swanny for .1m

If he rises 0.3m by Friday, I'd be a little tempted to keep him and then bank 0.2m resale. It's a waste of a FT though since I don't want him for those three tough matches

I think maybe I might have decided against boarding the Martial express. A bit crowded for my liking.

I didn't see the Southampton game but I just don't see goals in United at the moment. Coupled with tough fixtures after Sunderland it's a no for me.

At the price he's very appealing and it feels very risky to go so against the grain.

I'm not willing to get Martial in for 1 game as I don't want him for his next 3 fixtures, but even if he's £9m+ by November it's easy to get him in. No hurry IMO.

Do people think its mainly casuals bringing in Martial when you see the difficult games Utd have after Sunderland match?

There are A LOT of ManU fans (casual and serious) that will have immediately put him in

WCs building team value and players thinking of wildcarding in a few GWs will see it as a good move.

There's that. But then there's the fact that there aren't really any other good options from any of the other big teams. Chelsea have a nice run but Costa looks set to miss 2 or 3 (Falcao or Remy could be a sneaky short-term punt..), Liverpool just aren't firing. Kane is yet to get off the mark. Giroud has been dropped. Martial, at £8M, makes sense!! Granted the fixtures after the next game aren't the easiest, but i think at £8M if he's guaranteed starts then you have to be looking at keeping him longer term. Could be tremendous value.

I googled it, sounded like Homer and it is:P
Seen this used sometime last week as well, off topic I know but what is the meaning/context?

Means I agree with you and sounds like the sort of thing that sounds like it came from my own mouth.

Martial could easily go up by 0.3 or 0.4 this week the way it's going (assuming it's not capped). Another good game against Sunderland and he'll have jumped hugely. Only owned by 11.5%, so a lot of people to bring him in

Martial Kolorov & Wilson all looking like rising tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

So. Back to back rise for Martial.

Think he's the first one this year?

    £0.3m max per GW.

Great news if Martial goes up tonight for a definite .3 this week. .4 possibly Sat night then as well

His record at Monaco would suggest that 3 goals in 2 league games is an aberration. Granted, he is young and improving but I'll back my instinct and hold off on him.

As a matter of interest I wondering what the source of the 3 rises in a week 'rule' is. It's something I've always believed, possibly based on the FISO explanations. Is it possible that there has never been enough transfer volume to test the thresholds for a 4th rise?

I don't see it happening but if he goes up again tonight and suppose something very unlikely like an Aguero injury were to happen tomorrow, then you would have to think we could be in unchartered territory......

So is the 3 rises set in stone somewhere?

Wasn't tested much last season but for sure the year before when 3 rises by midweek was common but no matter how much over the threshold the 4th rise wouldnt be till first night of the following gw.

It's definitely been true in recent years.
All the transfers after the third rise will count towards the 4th rise. You used to see the odd player with 300/400% fiso and totalfpl.
