Was just about to write that postie came and went. I've been camped by the door. He didn't deliver the game. Was fairly p1ssed off. But then not even 10 minutes later it was delivered by van. Oh Happy Days! Oh Happy Days!

Can anybody confirm that the version Argos are selling for €49.99 also comes with the art book?
The image on their website looks like a normal game box

It must be the game and artbook. There's no version of just the game on its own. At least not yet. Maybe in the future they'll ship it as just the game.

the Missus / Banjette informs me that my copy has arrived. Huzzah!

Here - has anyone noticed the Argos situation? It's clearly a misprice/mixup but still...

412/9341 - Just the game, pic shows a standard wii U game box. 50 quid
436/8119 - Description says Artbook, no mention of amiibo in the description, the pic says Amiibo. €70

HUKD have a picture from an Argos catalog that shows the same codes with the Amiibo in 9341 and the Artbook in 8119, priced accordingly.

Anyone fancy taking a punt, updating us and making sure you leave one of the 2 in Liffey Valley for me if it pans out?

Picked up the €50 version from the Argos in the Ilac Centre. Regular non-amiibo package confirmed! Hardback art book present and correct!

Cheers. Just bought it earlier myself in Jervis St.

Their listing is strange, as the amiibo bundle doesn't even mention the amiibo in the description but stresses the inclusion of the book, and the standard version doesn't mention the book at all.

No sign of that free poster, though in fairness I forgot to ask !

You know what this game needs? A thumbs up/thumbs down system instead of stars. We need a way to flag levels that are just pure s**t.

I just played the 100 mario challenge (normal length, 16 courses). I got as far as course 9 and just quit out of frustration. I'd say I skipped at least 30 courses.

I played through about 5 courses that had stupidly ridiculously jumping requirements.
3 or 4 with trolling thwomps that just fall out of the sky offscreen without warning (aren't you clever?)
3 or 4 that spit a load of stars out of a pipe and throw a load of enemies at you. Original.
A couple that were rehashes of the TUTORIAL level with an extra jumbo piranha plant or two.
    A couple of autoplay levels.
A couple of stupidly hard enemy gauntlets.
    Some stupid amiibo levels.
Some levels filled with springboards, tiny platforms and no floors.
Plus one long level with no platforms, enemies or coins (just run to the end).

Out of the 40 or so levels that I played, not one was worth a star.

Looking forward to the day when the cream starts rising towards the top.

Made my first couple of levels with the girls. Highlights include
    • tutorial level with added flying piranha plant and jumbo goombas
    • Level that's all coins and breakable blocks with no hard floor because daddy will arse-slam through it every time for comedic effect
    • 3 levels with straight paths to goal and stairs to the top of the flag, no enemies because "noooo! they always get me!"
As long as you market this game at kids and families, it's going to be full of turds. Had the internet been plugged in I'd have been forced to "flush" them out to the wild.

Although, my 4 year old hid the Goal flagpole behind a bunch of breakable blocks, then wet herself, jumped on our bed and sat on my wifes pillow, so her evil streak is definitely coming through - I expect great things from her by the weekend!

Glad to see your getting some alone time with the game:-) ah sure that's what it's all about, the good ol family! Enjoy it while it lasts they really do grow too quick!

I hate the ones that have jumps at the top of the screen where you jump offscreen with no way to tell if you'll land on that single block/enemy.

In that instance people should use coins to help track the trajectory of the jump.

I'm all pooped out on level creating for now. Tomorrow I'll be trawling through the levels in the sticky - I'm looking forward to them!

Also, this is one of the freakiest things I've seen in a mario game

    12002215_454611078055295_961525683547205023_n.jpg?oh=8b7facf62bc7e6a6e6473f0413dcd3de&oe=569E6174

dunno if folk know this or not, but you unlock this mushroom by doing 10-mario enough times for it to unlock the "world" championship levels, and them die to them/do them from the coursebot (there's 4).

I had basically the same experience. I love the difficult Mario levels but ridiculous stuff where you have to take blind jumps or require an item that's hidden in an invisible block somewhere is no fun.

I'm curious as to why some people try to make all their levels as difficult as possible (and by that I mean including any of the above, not precision jumping etc). Surely it's better that players can complete your level without prior knowledge of where item A or enemy B might be hidden..

So which Mario tile set do you prefer using? For me personally I am spending nearly all my time using the Super Mario World tile set. For me it is far and away the best of the bunch. I just love the art style so much and it just feels better to me.

I think my least favourite is the New Super Mario Bros. style. I'm not really sure why because I have enjoyed and finished all the games in the New Super Mario Bros. series. I guess it has a lot to do with nostalgia. I grew up playing the original SMB and progressed through each version. And when I was younger Super Mario World was my favourite and I guess it continues to be so.

It also has the best power-up with the Cape but it is kind of restricted in this game as it only allows you a level two screens high.

I like them all but the New style is definitely my least favourite too. I'd find it very difficult to rank the other three but I'm probably most fond of 3.

The new style is the only one with the wall jump though and that comes in handy.

This is my 6 year old daughters level, she would be delighted if she got up tomorrow to find people have played her level! Thanks;-)

Done. Gave her a star, brilliant for a 6 year old.

    Lakitu is some fecker.

That fly swatting game is impossible. Get to the last level no problem but then die. Must require me to break my gamepad to beat it. What the hell are you meant to do? Youtube.

Thanks! She has developed a lot of skill for this kind of thing from terraria I think.

Anyway you are all a big bunch of softies! This is by far my most played and starred level. Thanks to all who took the time to play and especially complete it!

My poor brother is really sad only three people have played his level (don't have too much sympathy, he's 29) but if you have a couple of minutes the ID is 151C-0000-003C-6E87.

Is there a reason this thread is in the Nintendo forum and not over in the Games forum?

It's interesting before the game was released I didn't think I'd be making levels but it's actually really enjoyable making them and getting feedback when people play them.

Yeah I've been working on a level for a few days now and it's turning out well. It's a nice way to wind down after a long day.
