    Lads.

When I click into mash up/HD movies/latest HD movies (mbox)/then the menu appears showing the list of movies.

I pick a movie, it loads. But when the screen comes up to pick your resolution ie 480 720 etc, it only comes up for the first ten or so movies.

After that the box appears, but it is empty. So I can't choose anything, so I can't watch the movie.

    (Content list had fully cached)

Didn't think that mashup worked anymore, it's been unsupported for a while.
There are other options to install similar to mashup. Phoenix etc..

I have phoenix. But the movie range on mash up is massive in comparison.

    Zeus, Turks, Kodi Underground, etc..

As far as I remember, I'm not 100%, Phoenix and Mashup are the same guy - Stael (one of phoenix anyway) (not sure of spelling), but I haven't checked in a long time.
Maybe he just used the repo as a base.

Phoenix is Phoenix because it rose up from the ashes of MashUP.The Mashup that exists now is not really the same Mashup(run by Mash, now left the scene). All the Playlisters in Phoenix were playlisters in MashUP.

I believe Phoenix is coded by Blazetamer & Lambda(of Genesis)

Genesis has to be the current best(for consistency) Movie and Tv Show Addon, then you havee so many more great choices like S.A.L.T.S(similar to Genesis)....and I could keep going. But I'd probably get banned.

P2P has (more or less) become Plexus. It's much better, in the sense that it's easier to store your own playlist, and include logos etc. and is supported in openelec.

The addresses are easy enough to come by too.

    Hi All,
I have been reading the thread from the first post up to around page 18, so i have jumped up to the last post, so apologies in advance if i missed what i am asking about.

Im just about to buy a new smart TV and i am wondering if need to buy an Amazon Fire Stick to avail of free streaming TV/Videos? I see them for sale on ebay with Codi installed. Is this the way to go? or would there be a region ban? or is there another way i can get free TV/Videos/etc,,,. If anyone has any info i would be grateful. PM me if needed.Thanks.

There are so many options out there for you and you can't really ask questions like that here. But you have many choices.......

    1: Buy a dedicated HTPC/Smart Box(like mentioned above)
2: Use a laptop/tablet connect to the TV and watch that way (using a Home Theater media center like Kodi or others)
3: Some TV's are capable of doing above. Can be done via browser for some too.

Anyway there's a few choices for you,now you need to google to see what's best for your needs.Hope that is of some help to you.

Sony run an Android platform on a limited range of TV, not sure how "breakable" it is though, only a matter of time really when all the manufactures get on board. Will make life easier for sure.

Thanks Coldfire1x and bazzz, i am only LOOKING. I recall seeing something on the web about the Fire Stick being used in the UK for obtaining free TV services. I just wanted to know if a person had one in this country would it work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,357 ✭✭✭coldfire1x

^^ You can get all the free services on this (or any android / HTPC) box if you look at last few pages of this thread and bit of search on the net.

Yes it will work but you need to research it a bit more and look at how your home network set-up aswell as this will impact the experience of using kodi 3rd party add-ons. fire stick will only use wifi so if your wifi signal is weak where the TV will be you'll have trouble, the firetv box will use ethernet (network cable) but that may entail you using extenders or running cable to the TV location.

There are so many options out there that you can use to stream TV (some legal some not) via kodi that you are best to research and plan ahead of time rather than just dive in because somebody mentioned a firetv stick as having that capability.

have a look over on http://kodicommunity.com/ and the forums @ http://forum.kodicommunity.com/ there is a good helpful community around there and they can advise you aswell.

Lads, if this is the wrong place to ask sincere apologies. I have a T8 through Munster Gadgets and use their app for the box. It was Kodi 14.2. They updated the app and it's now on Kodi 15. Since this however I keep on getting script errors or whatever whenever I go into any of my add ons. They actually work initially but then drop off. It's extremely frustrating. Never happened until I did the update. My broadband is through UPC Horizon, any ideas?

Don't they charge for the service?

Have they any back up if things go wrong?

I may have to do that but strange that Kodi 15 does not seem to be comptible. Would it be anything to do with the UPNP option on the Horizon box?

its not compatible on all devices, i have said app and 15.2 works on my box but not my tablet,so went back to 14.2 on the tablet and the new app update works perfect still

Same, I had to drop back to 14.2 on my tablet for it to work. I can understand that but I don't know why 15.2 doesn't work properly on my T8.
