its not compatible on all devices, i have said app and 15.2 works on my box but not my tablet,so went back to 14.2 on the tablet and the new app update works perfect still

Who is your broadband provider, out of interest?

I may have to do that but strange that Kodi 15 does not seem to be comptible. Would it be anything to do with the UPNP option on the Horizon box?

If I were you i'd contact the munster gadgets guy directly and raise a support ticket with them as they provide an apk file then what they are providing is a custom kodi build (custom skins and installed apps) in an android package.

If they are using 15 or 15.1 then there are some known issues there as generally it is not until a .2 release before kodi is considered a stable release.. Currently 15.2 is in testing phase and will be released shortly.

I've contacted him and he suggested the UPNP on the Horizon box could be the issue. I will try that and see if it makes any difference. I'll follow up again with him if not. Beyond frustrating at this stage

I noticed this morning that Xunity talk have released an updated Irish TV addon

I've just installed the updated xunitytalk repo and can confirm that RTE player is now working! The live RTE streams are having problems, you can hear audio but can't see the video, I'm sure this is being worked on though :) Hope the player stays working as I've got a freesat box for TV so RTE player is a great addon to have!

Thanks Tommycahir. If i had a smart TV would there be any need for a fire stick?

It depends on whether the smart TV can be changed to have apps like Kodi installed, some can and some can't. generally a smart TV will only allow authorised offical apps like netflix, facebook etc installed and these won't let you stream the more grey area tv and movies like kodi 3rd party addons can.

There is a workaround, you need to use an app called ipawind, unfortunately it is paid

But if one was using an Amazon fire stick attached to a non smart TV, wouldn't the TV be only acting as a monitor and all the apps would be on the stick?

As already mentioned most smart TV's will only give you access to a limited amount of official streaming apps eg netflix, you tube,RTE player etc.If these meet your requirements then no other device is necessary.

If you are looking to run unofficial apps eg Kodi then there are numerous devices available to do this, the fire stick being one of them.If you do go for the fire stick dont pay the over inflated E Bay prices, get it from Amazon (you will need to use Parcel Motel for delivery) and install Kodi yourself, its quite easy to do,there are loads of tutorials on how to do this just google it.
I have one myself and it runs great once you have decent internet

Alternatively you run Kodi on a laptop and connect that to your TV through HDMI cable

^^ That's been down for a day or two, unless reinstalling it works?

Another new addon is Project Cypher. It's inside robocop.

15 new IPTV addons rolling out of the forums in the coming weeks, all (allegedly) running different streams. :)

NBCSN is by far the best(free) for prem league coverage and quality streams, its in the VDub 25 or phoenix add on under USA sports. They cover 4 matches every weekend

Agreed. The picture and sound are absolute top quality! However, it shows a lot more games than that.

NBCSN will always have games at 12.45 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. (along with occasional live games at 5.30 p.m.) on Saturdays, two on Sundays, Monday night and midweek games. They also show games that aren't televised in the UK. The best thing about it is that it shows all the goals from all the goals at half time and full time of their 3 p.m. game so you've seen everything by 5 p.m. on a Saturday! :D

There is an NBCSN add on, if you know how to use it.... ;)

It really is excellent, decent analysis too, definitely the best quality I've found.

The only annoying thing about it is that bloody music during the commercial breaks - it'd drive you crazy altogether!! :(

NBCSN can buffer badly for me.
I find the links on sportsdevil to be the best overall, maybe not the near HD quality you get with NBCSN but it almost never buffers for me.

The best one I have for Sports is Dexter.

Ok, that shouldn't be buffering for you. Do you clear your cache daily? What's your internet speed? You need 2.5 MB for SD and 5-6 for HD. Perhaps run a speedtest? If SportsDevil works for you, I'm guessing it's either your internet speed or your box can't handle HD streams at all. Have you tried any HD movies or tv shows? How do they work for you?

I have UPC broadband, think its 200 mbs.
My android box is a mxIII.
No I don't clear the cache everyday.

You should clear the cache every day in the Maintenance Tool, Genesis, any other add ons you can as it really helps reduce buffering issues. However, I know a few people who struggle with HD on the MXIII. I think some of those boxes need firmware updates or something, depending on where they were bought/originated - which is strange as they would be a highly rated device....

You should install Openelec on it. Especially if you mainly use Kodi over Apps.
